Hi looking for present ideas for DD who will be 6 months.

I'm looking for things she can 'grow with'. She will be 1 in June next year so will be getting outdoor type toys for the summer.

Me and DH won't be buying much (what's the point 😂) it's more for family as they've asked what they can buy her.

So far I can only think of:

Jumparoo
Books
Highchair

Ball pit which could double up as paddling pool for summer.
Tunnel to crawl through
Sensory things like bubble machine or shifon scarves to mess with
Rattles, bells, basic musical instruments like xylophone, marakas or drum

Nice stocking to use every year
A print or picture for her bedroom
Tree bauble
Snowline or music box
We got a wooden nativity scene... colourful chunky wood so it was toddler proof when little, now is just decor every Christmas.

My 2 were 6 and 7 months for their first Christmases. They had a lot of next size clothes which was very useful and some personalised books. The most popular toys were the crawl and learn ball, the hide and squeak eggs and a spin and sing turtle. Other useful things were a push along walker, lots of bowls and spoons, an Ollie the owl white noise thing and a gro clock (not used until much later but my 2 were given one each on their first Xmas)

Honestly I wouldn't do a jumperoo at 6 months. She'll only be in it 5 minutes before she's too big for it. Or if you really want one get one second hand. They're very expensive for something that they grow out of by 8 months or so.

I would say stacking cups and instruments. Maybe a shape sorter. It will be a while before she can do the shapes but she'll enjoy banging them together

I think a jumperoo is a good idea - DS is a big 8 months (size of the average 13 month old) and still uses his daily. I put him in it when I cook & he loves it.

Agree that second hand or via a toy subscription is the way forward though.

The bamboo dinner plates with the suction are a great idea plus Bibado bibs.

My DD will be 6 months at Christmas. I'm planning on getting her a ball pit and a dozy dinkums doll.

Weaning kit. Toddler cutlery for when they’re eating properly. Baby swing (preferably one that can convert to a normal swing).

Thank you for all your ideas!

We're planning on TTC again in the next few years so any 'big toys' will hopefully last and we can put away in storage.

Ridiculous for everyone to be buying her stuff she will have no interest whatsoever in. She will not remember this Christmas, bit will mean nothing to her! Tell everyone to save their pennies. By her some age appropriate toys books and clothes and enjoy the day with her.
