Festival themed presents for 17 year old

Anotherloverholeinyohead · 11/09/2021 10:15

DS17 is (hopefully) going to his first festival next year and want to get him some useful gifts to make up his Christmas present.

So far I have

Festival ticket (this will be his main gift)
Weekend backpack
Loo seat covers
Torch

Any other ideas? All of presents will probably be around the festival idea (he is quite a minimalist person - all items need to have a purpose) and then made up with some cash etc to even it out with his brother.

Any help welcome

Small backpack/bumbag/phone pouch - preferably water resistant

Disposable ponchos

I made up a festival hamper for my brother the first time he went to Glastonbury. Some of the items I put in were:-

Bin bags
Flat toilet roll
Peebol bags (wee straight into the bag, which has crystals in it, can be thrown in away in a bin).
Body wash (type which can be used without water)
Mini towel
Gorilla tape (mini roll)
Mini First Aid kit
Collapsible water bottle
Camping light
Ponchos
Glow sticks

Tent, SIM, decent sleeping bag, head torch, battery lantern for inside the tent.

Tent
Sleeping bag
Beers
Wash bag
Roll mat
Camping chair
Glow sticks as a fun stocking filler

Definitely recommend a wind up torch - you don’t want to be fannying around with batteries.
Collapsible water bottle (large one, couple of litres)
Jetboil (or similar)
Even though it’s a pain to lug from car park to campsite a blow up bed and electric pump - I naively did a roll mat for my first festival at 15 - never did it again! Always took blow up bed after that.
Baby wipes and small packs of tissues
3 in 1 coffee sachets (or 2 in 1 if you don’t take sugar)
Super noodles
Pots of fruit in juice (pineapple, peaches, etc)
Camping cutlery
Camping mug and bowl

Hope that helps! 😁

FrogsHiccups · 12/09/2021 08:08

Oh and definitely a camping chair!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/09/2021 08:10

Pot noodles, cereal bars, paracetamol, and a camping kettle.

LawnFever · 12/09/2021 08:11

What a great idea for Christmas presents!

Ear plugs & eye mask - no matter what time he tries to sleep someone will be awake.

Good socks, long ones if he’s wearing wellies so they don’t rub.

Power pack to charge his phone, queuing for the phone charge tents is a pain.

Fishing trolley to get his stuff on-site.

lilacmoon78 · 12/09/2021 08:12

shower in a can!

DumplingsAndStew · 12/09/2021 08:16

Does he drink? If so, and he likes spirits, some of those mixed canned drinks - as far as I know from my festival days glass isn't allowed and drinks onsite are expensive.

Half a dozen ecstacy pills and a bag of coke Grin

FreeElf · 12/09/2021 08:17

Solar powered phone charger
Baby wipes (lots)
Wellies
Extra long welly socks
Small bum bag
Full length waterproof

LawnFever · 12/09/2021 09:24

Waterproof trousers as well as cost, he’ll thank you if it rains.

Sun cream, hat, refillable water bottle, hip flask.

LawnFever · 12/09/2021 10:57

Coat not cost! Grin

Riverhouse · 12/09/2021 11:03

Self inflating camping mat

Anotherloverholeinyohead · 12/09/2021 13:11

Thank you so much for all the suggestions - there are certainly a fair few ideas to research!

The festival is five days after his 18th birthday so I am happy to include a few cans of beer !

Roll of bin bags. To wear/sit on and even sell if it's really rainy

Condoms

Trendy bucket hat/hat

Wet wipes

Aerosol sun cream

Alcohol

Not sure he'll need much else

Eeeeeps · 14/09/2021 22:22

Disposable camera - they are ‘in’ again, especially for festivals!

Bontanics · 14/09/2021 22:25

Duct tape
Bin bags
Hand sanitiser

Fairnair · 20/09/2021 19:02

I forgot to mention, also included a pouch to wear round the neck for phone, money etc. safer than keeping stuff in pockets, & more discreet than a bum bag. It had the blocking tech included, so people can’t get your debit card details etc.
