my brother has just moved in with his partner and her 2 kids - boy of 12 and girl of 14. i've never had to buy a pressie for a nearly teenage boy before what do i get him for around 15-20 pounds?

Not very imaginative I know, but I bought some Virgin vouchers for my friends ds 12. My Nephew is also 12 and he asked for books so I got him a few of Lemony Snicketts series of unfortunate events from amazon (his mum did tell me what he wanted). Last year think I got him The Guinness Book of world records. DVD's? Maybe you could find out if there are any he might like?

has he an iPod - an iTunes card would be good if so.

i did ask my borther what he was into but he told me not to bother getting anythign for them -easy for him to say!

i've no idea if he's got an iPod! but maybe some vouchers would be a good idea.

I'd say vouchers too. Maybe from somewhere like Smiths or Borders that do CDs, books, DVDs and other stuff so he can choose what to get.
I know it's not very imaginative but at least it's safe.
What are you getting his sister?

I got this for a 12 yr old boy that I don't know very well - I do know that the whole family like playing games though.

Also got it for DH!

i have a situation a bit like yours my2- my SIL's boyfriend has a 12 year old boy who we don't know too well. i got him one of these last year and he really loved it. My dd also 12 was quite jealous! It is not too dear either.

Definitely the 20 questions DS 12 has it and now has asked for the new version this christmas. He would like any of the suggestions, especially the Guiness Book of Records.

Loshad · 04/12/2007 11:25

naw, 20Q is not that good, and he would proabably consider it too young - would go for vouchers, or chocolate!, or guiness book or world records
