We've always had a huge tree - it seems to overtake the room. (Dh getting carried away with the whole idea)

I've decided it's too much so we'll have a smaller one this year. It'll be just as pretty and we might actually be able to have a conversation in the room without peering round branches and sending out search parties for lost dc behind it.

Artificial though. I killed the only real tree we had. It kind of keeled over in the pot.

Bloody nora 10 foot, have you measured to from your floor to your ceiling? i could only fit another 2 feet on mine if i wanted a bigger one & it would be touching the ceiling.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 03/12/2007 19:07

FAWKEOFFwiththetinsel · 03/12/2007 19:08

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 03/12/2007 20:23

Can you not cut a little hole in the ceiling?

mollymawk · 03/12/2007 20:27

This reminds me of the tree we got a couple of years ago. DH ordered one that was 10' tall and it came all wrapped up and thin in that netting stuff. He battled it into the sitting room, set it up and then cut off the netting. The branches just went floomp when they were set free and it turned out to be about 8' wide and took up most of the room.

bubblerock · 03/12/2007 20:27

I've got 2 6ft trees at home and 2 3ft trees for the shop windows - I haven't done them yet though, it's a bit scary!

Santasmissyontheside · 03/12/2007 20:28

lol molly that happened to us twice. we lived in a flat at the time and dh had to saw it in peices to get it back out!

wardrobemistressakasugarfree · 03/12/2007 20:28

Santas and Jazzi...

Santasmissyontheside · 03/12/2007 20:34

Santasmissyontheside · 03/12/2007 20:45

you can be the mner at the top of "how big your tree?" list

PurpleLostPrincess · 03/12/2007 21:53

I don't know how high ours is, about 6ft maybe? But is purple, purple, purple! I got it for a bargain a few years ago and I hope it lasts forever.

It has:

Purple tinsel
Purple lights
Purple ballballs
Purple icicles
Purple ribbon
Purple beads
and a gold star on top (used to be purple but lost that one and needed to replace it quickly!).
