Who is taking the risk and buying big presents early?

I cracked today and bought the LOL surprise dollhouse for DD. She’s 4 so the chance of her changing her mind is medium high but she’s been asking for it for about 6 months and would be gutted if she doesn’t get it.

She’s 5 on 28th December so need to sort a birthday present as well.

I also bought DHs present, as it was reduced, which slightly backfired as it was just announced there is a different version of what he wanted which he wants more. So I had to tell him I got the first version and he could buy the second version for himself!

I’ve already got everything. I got the lists Locked in early. The only thing left to buy are advent calendars. I like to buy early. I know I will add more but they will be extras I come across while out shopping.

@StickersStickers

I'm stuck with my 8 year old. She wants a rubix cube and a specific squishy I can't find for sale in the EU/UK and they seem hard to find even in US!
What squishy dose she want?
GameSetMatch · 08/09/2021 19:11

@WearingMyBestMardyPants thanks for the link but it’s Jean luc and the camper van he particularly wants and is only available in Australia.

FatCatThinCat · 08/09/2021 19:15

Me. 8 year old DS will be getting a Nintendo switch from us and his grown up sister. He won't ask for one as it's not something he would ever expect to get but it's the one thing he wants more than life itself.

StickersStickers · 08/09/2021 19:31

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS it’s called Critter cutiez. (I think) It’s an animal squishy with a different animal outfit. They seem to be out of stock everywhere.

@Mrsfussypants1 dd5 got the Vtech globe last year for her 5th birthday in November. She loves it, as do her siblings. Older brother wanted one for last Christmas but we couldn’t get one.

Winterfellismyhome · 08/09/2021 19:51

I got the bluey house earlier as im paranoid its gonna sell out. Also grabbed the melissa and doug ice cream counter which is discounted on amazon atm

Mrsfussypants1 · 08/09/2021 20:13

@EcoCustard ah that's good to hear your review, I'm quite looking forward to trying it out myself!

ohmyohmy123 · 08/09/2021 23:45

I caved and bought the oculus quest last week. I've also got my other DH some Star Wars figures that were half price as they are expensive! I don't have much more to buy really.

FearlessSwiftie · 09/09/2021 05:27

I do. I wanted to buy some electonics for bf and my parents and with the possibility of shortages I'd rather stay on the safe side and buy it early. I won't buy everything right now though, some things could pretty much be bought way later and my Smartshow 3d Christmas video would be done last minute anyway.

PinkJam · 09/09/2021 07:26

@Mrsfussypants1 Hi, can I ask where you bought the vtech globe from please? I have looked online but can’t find it in stock.

FuzzyPenguin · 09/09/2021 07:57

I have thankfully DS7 gets fixated on things and is unlikely to change his mind so not too worried, we were ok last year. Although his most wanted item was only £35 so it’s not too much of a risk.

Mrsfussypants1 · 09/09/2021 08:09

@PinkJam oops I've wrote Vtech, it's the Leapfrog magic adventures globe we've bought 😳

PinkJam · 09/09/2021 08:19

@Mrsfussypants1 No worries! Thank you for replying. Think I’m gonna go for the Leapfrog one as well because can’t find the vtech one in stock and the Leapfrog one has very good reviews.

mamiofboys · 09/09/2021 08:21

The boys will be sharing a switch as their main gift this year and I'm planning on ordering that sooner rather than later.

Cherryrainbow · 09/09/2021 08:22

Sorta, I thought for Xmas I'd get my son the mario lego set and my stepson the luigi set, so I've stocked up on some of the reduced expansions etc. Going to get the luigi set after payday x

Awcw1234 · 09/09/2021 11:53

I’ve bought my two girls the new Barbie Dreamhouse. Saw it on offer so thought I’d grab it at a less painful price 😂

StickersStickers · 10/09/2021 10:06

The LOL dollhouse arrived today. It came by courier just before the kids went to school. It was in a huge brown box with a big LOL on the side. I’m pretty sure DD4 didn’t notice it but DD8 did. She’s teethering on the verge of believing and not believing so I told her that this year it might be hard to get some toys so just in case Santa can’t get it, I got it.

I've been striking pretty lucky on my bargain hunting in the past few months so my kids presents are all done and hidden in the loft now!

DD1 has recently turned 4 and is a really easy lovely kid to buy for - she's got various dolls, Disney things, LOL sets, jewellery-making crafts... I'm secretly thrilled because she's recently been saying she wants her own mirror for her bedroom and we've already bought her a lovely big Frozen enchanted vanity table a few months back. Smile

DD2 will be very close to 2 come Christmas so still too little to ask for anything. Some of her presents include various Peppa Pig playsets, some Vtech and Leapfrog toys, Mega Bloks fairies and dress up bits and bobs. Pre-ordered her the Bluey little library books as well which should be coming end of the month.

DD3 will be born in the next three weeks so she's just going to be tiny at Christmas - lots of little practical presents for her like clothes, dummies, books and teethers.

I'm very excited! 🎄🎅🏻

Shufflebumnessie · 11/09/2021 15:09

I bought DD main present about a month ago. The Barbie Dreamplane was reduced to £36 and includes a Pilot doll. She hasn't specifically asked for it but will love it.
DS is getting a Harry Potter Lego set. I set up a price drop alert and stupidity didn't check my emails one day. Of course that was the day is dropped by about £40 and I missed it! Got a horrible feeling I'm going to have to pay full price for his. If I'd not missed it I'd have both of their main presents by now.

lannistunut · 11/09/2021 15:12

I always start the Christmas shopping straight after schools go back, so yes, will be getting presents soon. I got a few bits today.
