This year I got a new christmas tree and i've gone with a gold and silver them, I'm very happy with it, BUT, the rest of the room seems completely sparse. I would love it to look really christmassy, but, I don't like the foile decoration that are hung from ceilings etc.

We also don't have a fire/mantelpiece in the living room so we can't hang anything from that.

Any tips?

I put green things...erm, you buy them as a meter or so long of evergreen type stuff and hang them around the top of your walls, and decorate with bpws/pine cones and lights.

Door swag things aswell - do you have a shelf or two you can decorate? Any surface at all can hold something - also maybe wall decorations? Like card holder type things?

Oh, and if you have an archway at all, or a bit where the room sort of divides (living room to dining area?) you could hang like bells, hard to explain other than the fact they are big red or gold (or probably other coloured) bells with maybe abit of greenery at the top of them.

You can get those meter long greenery things in all sorts of styles, last year in Longacres they had "modern" type ones, a mix ie. greenery but frosted with silver bows etc. Sorrry, I am really waffling on now!
