pinkrangernowwobbles · 03/12/2007 13:23

Our school is charging £10 - i think that is over priced and told them, There is 29 children is DS class alone so that would be £290 for the one class!!! would be happy to pay £5 - There

TheBlonde · 03/12/2007 14:04

£12 for a school one.

Sam100 · 03/12/2007 17:14

Bargain £6!

Mercy · 03/12/2007 17:20

Our school doesn't do videos and tbh I wouldn't buy one if they did.

Anchovy · 03/12/2007 17:36

I think ours is £15. Its reasonably well done - twinkly music, credits, cast list and a cheery message.

My DCs absolutely adore the nativity dvds. The year before last they literally watched it every day for about 3 weeks. However much it is, we certainly get our "value" out of it!

Hulababy · 03/12/2007 17:40

Have to say that last year's DVD was well done, and DD loves it, as did grandparents. It has a nice "behind the scenes" bit from the menu showing rehearsals and the girls all getting ready, which is very sweet and a bit different too.

We had one for a dance show and play - about £14 iirc.

TwoRustyDoves · 03/12/2007 18:02

Depends if you look at it as a fair price for the work involved or a fundraiser for the school.

We don't do one at the school I work at as we have several parents who have refused permission for photos & it would be too difficult to keep them out of it, especially if they are in major roles.

We do do a CD of photos from our annual Year 6 trip for £5 & I have to trail through & exclude the photo-refusers which is a pain. We also make parents sign an agreement not to put them on a public website or to edit them.

smartiejake · 03/12/2007 18:31

Our local dance school wanted £30!!! for a dvd. Us mums got together and bought one between us and made copies (v. naughty I know but £30!!!!)
The filming/ production on the video was artocious so pleased we didn't buy it proper.

Maidamess · 03/12/2007 18:34

£15. And I watched the performance that was the one being videoed today. Not good! Reconsidering my £15.....

TheBlonde · 04/12/2007 20:54

Thanks all
I believe I don't have to order until after the performance so will wait and see how my shepherd performs

webchick · 04/12/2007 23:56

My daughter's dancing display one was £18.....

mumeeee · 05/12/2007 10:42

DD2 and DD3s school and drama group ones are £10

grendel · 05/12/2007 21:09

My DH filmed, edited and produced the DVD of the School Panto last year and charged £5.00 per copy - half of which he donated to school funds.

We had to pay £15.00 for DVD of DD's ballet show though!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 05/12/2007 21:26

Ours are £10 - £5 to school, £5 to production company.

Last years Christmas play was well filmed with good sound & editing and the DVD had a nice cover and a list of the cast on the back - so I'm quite happy to buy another this year.
