I am due November 10th with our second pregnancy (we lost our first last yr at 19 weeks). We live abroad and due to covid and being pregnant for a lot of the time we havent been back to the uk since feb 2020 and only seen our parents for 1 week after losing the baby.
We were hoping to come back at Christmas with the baby but think he will be too little to fly, especially with covid around, so have decided to stay here and hopefully go back later in January. It may be possible for family to visit but i doubt they'll come actually at Christmas due to the expense.
I usually love Christmas, I have a big family and we meet up and play games and its lovely. I have some ideas to make this christmas nice, but it'll be our 2nd Christmas away from family and the last 2 yrs have been pretty rough for us. I do feel sad that our baby won't be around family for his first Xmas (and that family won't be around him). We haven't had much chance to meet any friends here due to covid restrictions so it will probably just be us 3.
Does anyone have any ideas of things to do over the holidays to make it extra special and turn it in to something lovely rather than a sad occasion?
