Hi. Looking for some recommendations for

  1. Fun board game we can play with my teens age 14 and 17
  2. Fun quicker card type game for after Christmas dinner

So far we have got and enjoy
Monopoly (Normal one and Stranger things). DD has her eye on the new Elf one
Cluedo
The Cube
Jumanji (probably a bit young now)
Scrabble
Exploding Kittens
Game of Life (again probably too young now for them)
The Chase
Pictionary
Articulate

So not any of them please as been over played over Lockdown.

Any other good ones? Thanks xx

Settlers of Catan

RandomMess · 30/08/2021 15:00

Carcassonne
Flux
Dixit
Bananagrams

Ricekrispie22 · 30/08/2021 15:50

Was going to suggest Catan, but I’ve been beaten to it!

Throw Throw Burrito
Soundiculous
Kids Against Maturity
Rummikub
Unstable Unicorns
Skyjo
Beat that
Pandemic

5 second rule
Shot in the Dark
Sussed

Lyricallie · 30/08/2021 15:53

Ooo second flux. I would recommend dobble (if they are Harry potter fans you can get a HP version).
Also pandemic and my all time favourite, ticket to ride. We have the UK expansion and OG Europe one.

MeredithMae · 30/08/2021 15:54

Ooh Ok Play is a great game and it's so cheap! Enjoy!

notacooldad · 30/08/2021 15:55

King of tokyo
Ticket to ride.

mumontherun14 · 30/08/2021 16:35

Lol we all have covid just now and are isolating so I cannot even look at Pandemic!!! Smile Smile

Has anyone tried any of the escape room board games?

My teens all love Telestrations.

Dobby Dobble? Grin

iklboo · 30/08/2021 17:01

Taskmaster and The Wall are both good fun.

lorisparkle · 30/08/2021 17:06

My 14year old requested Risk last year. We played it as a family for hours!

Caramellatteplease · 30/08/2021 17:09

Sushi go
Colt express (takes a couple of goes to learn as the game concept is different from more traditional games but is absolutely hilarious)
King of Tokyo
Cash and Guns
Sagrada
Camel up

Harder to get hold of or on kickerstarter:
Chicken heist (this one is awesome, better version of Colt express which is already very goodq¹)
Village pillage
Sleep tight (horror themed co-operative game that actually works as a cooperative)

CasparBloomberg · 30/08/2021 17:10

Sushi Go is a good card game.
Ticket to Ride and Carcassone are good table games.

IThinkIMadeItWorse · 30/08/2021 17:20

We really enjoy the Unlock! series which are a bit like at home escape room, the first set is not the best so maybe start with one of the later ones. If you want to try some cooperative games but don't fancy Pandemic we like The Crew, Burgle Bros, Hanabi, Codenames Duet and Hogwarts Battle.

If you would rather be competitive King of Tokyo is fun, also Clank, Bargain Quest, Gizmos, Steampunk Rally, Takenoko all get played fairly often

For a quick card game Abandon All Artichokes is fun, also repeat the Fluxx recommendation.

999caffeineplease · 30/08/2021 18:16

Card games we are really enjoying at the moment are Monopoly Deal and Uno, they're great for a quick 10 minute game.

We also really like Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan and Pandemic (topical!)

Longbarn5 · 30/08/2021 18:36

Saw PANDEMIC mentioned above, I bought it for jy adult daughter and her partner last year. Thought it would be appropriate! They love it

Bells3032 · 30/08/2021 18:41

I have tried the exit games and the the unlock ones. Love the exit ones so highly reccomend. But always play with 2 not 4.

Other games
Horrified
The captain is dead
Catan
Century
Istanbul
Munchkins

Emelene · 30/08/2021 18:44

We love Ticket to Ride and Scotland Yard.
