Aww, that's a really sweet card! I love corny cards too. Xmas Smile

Ninkanink · 28/08/2021 11:05

It’s not corny. It’s only a tiny bit twee. Xmas Smile

Time40 · 28/08/2021 11:41

That's a proper, old-fashioned Christmas card, OP. There should be more like that. I'm sick and tired of the mostly white ones with a single sprout or a holly leaf on them.

I miss old-style Christmas cards. Bring back Victorian ladies singing carols, robins on postboxes, nativity scenes and (my favourite) mail coaches in the snow.

GreyhoundG1rl · 28/08/2021 13:16

I like that, it's lovely.

MrsPerfect12 · 28/08/2021 13:19

I love them. Where did you get them?

Mybalconyiscracking · 28/08/2021 13:21

I like Nativity cards..

Hear, hear.
PinkBuffalo · 28/08/2021 13:22

I love it! Not corny at all 🙂🎄

flowersmakeitbetter · 28/08/2021 13:45

I'd be very happy to receive that!

Are they charity cards?

Ninkanink · 28/08/2021 13:47

Charity shops often have a good selection of traditional Christmas cards.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/08/2021 15:17

@MrsPerfect12*, from the Dogs’ Trust, but I’m glad there are some pusscats on the card too, so I can send to cat-mad sisterIL!

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER I hope you understood that ‘a tiny bit twee’ is a good thing in my book! I wasn’t dissing your lovely card. Xmas Smile

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/08/2021 15:47

No offence taken, @Ninkanink! 🎄

Omg. That is so Christmasy. Makes me want it to be Christmas right this second Grin

Ninkanink · 28/08/2021 15:59

I was humming Christmas carols earlier today...this is the time of year, just when you start to feel the almost imperceptible beginnings of change of season, that I really find myself looking forward to Christmas. 🎄🎄🎄

JoyOrbison · 28/08/2021 16:03

An I mention RNLI? We received one last year which was a lovely similar card with RNLI helping Santa, and obvs it's for a good cause Smile

Yes those images are so festive 🎄

I always choose charity cards in the first instance, but to be brutally honest some of them can be dreadfully dreary.
That one is gorgeous, and Dogs Trust is a charity close to my heart, so win win Grin

I've just googled these; they're beautiful!
Ninkanink · 28/08/2021 16:29

I always buy from diabetes U.K. as my daughter has type 1. But the RNLI would be my 2nd choice.🎄

@Mybalconyiscracking

I like Nativity cards..
Me too! Either a crib or one of the ones with the Bethlehem sky line on. I am not religious but like a bit of a reminder of it all in a card.

That is a lovely card though OP; it looks like a scene from The Starlight Barking!

flowerbus · 28/08/2021 16:35

I love them!

Poppins17 · 28/08/2021 16:36

How wonderful! I do enjoy writing and sending cards as well as receiving them.

I bought all of my Christmas cards (immediate family and general family) for on a recent trip to Devon from Whistlefish… it’s not a shop Ive come across before but I loved it and bought quite a few general cards from there too.

I’ve just looked on the dogs trust, it would be lovely to support them but £4.95 for delivery seems a bit steep. I’ll buy some charity cards for work colleagues from my local cancer research or Compton shop.

GreenClock · 28/08/2021 16:49

I found some lovely old fashioned cards (with a bit of glitter too) in a charity shop in Wales. They had “Nadolog Llawen” (Merry Christmas) written on them and I know very few Welsh people but I bought and sent them anyway!
