Any suggestions for a DVD as a present for DS1 who is 7

He wants the Star Wars DVD's episodes 1-3 but my brother is getting one of those and frankly I don't think I could stand hours and hours of Star Wars so I don't plan on getting any more.

Has to be something that appeals a little bit to DS2 who is 4 (going on 14) or world war III will break out every time DS1 tries to play it.

Harry Potter
Space Jam
Charlie & The Choc Factory
Shrek 3
Simpsons Movie

The Incredibles

Niecie · 01/12/2007 17:23

Thank you for your suggestions.

Whats Space Jam all about TwotoTango. I haven't heard of that one.

Neither of my two are that keen on Shrek and they haven't seen the Simpson.

Charlie is a possibility and The Incredibles.
Harry Potter frightened the life out of them both about a year ago but it might be worth another shot as DS1 has read some of the books now.

Any other ideas? Is he too old for Disney now?

I can't remember if The Incredibles is Disney or not but we all enjoyed it - from nephew aged 4 to my dad in his fifties - so I think maybe, "you're never too old for Disney"!!!

DS(4) really enjoyed Night At The Museum with Ben Stiller - about a museum (obv) where all the exhibits come to life at night. It's the first non-animated film (apart from Homeward Bound) that DS has sat through - he loved it. He's also enjoying the live-action Scooby Doo with Sarah Michelle Gellar, etc.

Forgot about night at the museum - excellent film.

space jam its on the cartoon network sometimes.

My DS is 7 and he likes Incredibles, have to agree never too old for Disney

Niecie · 01/12/2007 19:03

My DS loves Scooby Doo as well. We have SD 2, maybe I should get no. 1 as well.

A Night at the Museum is an excellent idea. I had forgotten about that. It was running in Sainsburys everytime we went in for a few weeks earlier in the year and he was difficult to drag away!

Any more films that have been released this year? We don't go the cinema often - last time was Flushed Away and we already have the DVD and I can't remember any others!

By Disney I was thinking the old cartoons like 101 Dalmations, Jungle Book, Dumbo and that sort of thing. Should I save those for DS2?

Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer went down very well with DS1 and his 7-8yo pals at his party. DS2 (4) enjoyed it too.

Also mine all loved Monster House at the flicks last year.
