Last year my friend delivered cute, little bags of rocky road and Christmas biscuits she had made which were beautifully packaged with a little note inside. I thought it was a really sweet idea and want to do something similar without totally copying her. Does anyone do anything similar? Any nice recipes? Thanks

Chutney of some description since people often have cold cuts/cheese at Christmas.

I have friends who are often looking to offload their apple glut at this time of year and I make chutney and apple jelly. I save small jars (cranberry sauce/mustard size) for decanting small amounts for token gifts. this is a good recipe, you can use regular malt vinegar if you want to reduce the cost.

Make some little parcels of Christmas fudge flavours? Baileys fudge, rum and raisin, chocolate orange etc. If they're into wax melts maybe buy some little Christmas scented melts, a lady in my village made some little star shaped pine, cinnamon etc scented and they were lovely.

Sloe gin always goes down well with the drinkers! You need to get it on early to be ready for Christmas though, so keep an eye out for them ripening.

My DSis made small bottles of toffee vodka one year that went down a treat Smile

I made cranberry and lime vodka one year - Pinterest. It was bloody lovely and looked great in bottles with stoppers and a nice label. Tbh though it wasn't a cheap option by the time all ingredients and the bottles were purchased.

I make mincemeat palmiers at Christmas though, they'd look nice in a posh box.

I made a gin and lime marmalade one year! My grandma loved it!! Haha

You could put together the ingredients to make cookies, in a nice jar, with the recipe attached.

See photo for example.

great idea I will be making that this year thanks.

It's a good one because you don't have to be super creative to make a nice gift Smile

clpsmum · 19/08/2021 19:24

I made mini gingerbread houses and shapes in a variety of gingerbread recipes and packed in cellophane gift bags. I've done the same in gingerbread house gift boxes using decorated party boxes.

Sn0tnose · 20/08/2021 22:25

I do engraved gin and wine glasses. I also do lots of stuff with Heat Transfer Vinyl so can do personalised clothing, slippers, tote bags, toiletry bags, Christmas stockings etc. I also decorate baubles and make flavoured vodka, although that’s a pain because of the sterile bottles thing.

Mudandrain · 22/08/2021 19:33

Homemade fudge is super easy and looks great in a gift bag.
