A main Nintendo switch or 2 switch lites?

Hi,
my two dcs are 6yo dd and 9yo DS, they both are desperate for a switch for Christmas, however I'm unsure whether to do it as a shared gift or 2 switch lites.
9yo DS has an xbox already but I'm predicting arguments, anyone have experience of this?

Hi, my dd has a switch and my son has an Xbox, this works really well as both play fortnite and minecraft with each other but using headsets. The switch itself you can connect to a monitor or your tv too. My dd has poor vision and connecting to a bigger screen helps her see the details better. Graphics on switch are really good. Sorry can’t advise on the lite.

I have a 6YO and 8YO. They have a regular switch each Blush. We also have an xbox and PS4 which they are allowed to play. And I have my own switch lite.Blush. We are a bit of a gaming family. I am MN worse nightmare.

We started out with one switch, but the kids kept fighting over it. In our defence, we got the second one in lockdown and spent what we usually would on parties/birthday days out for DS. I prefer them having one each because it means they can both play handheld and I can have the main living room TV. It also avoids fights when they both want to play the same thing at the same time.

I appreciate your budget might not allow for it, but I would recommend two regular switches rather than two lites. That way they can both play on TVs too if they want to. The screens are bigger and better quality. They are also mosr robust. And you will also have four controllers for when you want to to play Mario kart as a family. Grin

There is an issue with controllers 'drifting' and if this happens on a full switch, you only need to fix/replace the controller. If it happens on a lite, the whole thing is knackered.

Two Switch lites.

DS had a Switch and DD a Switch lite up until recently. DS Switch has finally given up after 3 years of almost solid use and we've just replaced it with a Switch lite as we never used the multiplayer function that you could with the Switch.
