Laura17111 · 17/08/2021 14:09

I am loving the Christmas prep this year and starting to put together a Christmas Eve box we do for my parents. So far we have:

Alcohol miniture x 2
Face mask x 2
Foot pack x 2
Sweets/ Chocoalte x 2
Shower gel x 2

Can anyone think what else I can put in. I know some people don't love Christmas Eve boxes but I love making them and they deserve the fuss Smile I would love any ideas, thank you

Sounds more like a stocking to me!
What about thinking of adult versions of what goes on kids boxes?

  • adult Christmas colouring book
  • Christmas book
  • PJs
  • fancy tea/coffee/whatever they are into
  • popcorn or cheeses to nibble while watching a film
All designed to get them calm in time for Santa coming Xmas Grin

Books to read

Depending on budget, cashmere bed socks, festive books, new board game, fancy marmalade or etc foot Christmas breakfast, fancy hot chocolate & marshmallows.

In Iceland the Christmas Eve tradition is to exchange books and drink hot chocolate. So my adult version of a Christmas Eve box would be

New Pjs /oodie type cosy hoodie
Book
Good chocolate
Bottle of Baileys
Christmas candle for the window

We always have a selection of the Cocoa Loca hot chocolate spoons. Bought them as fillers one year for everyone in the family, now a must have. Closer to xmas there is normally a pack of 3 we always have from Abel & Cole..

They actually get all their Christmas presents like a lot of northern Europe.

@Soomanybooks that makes sense. I wonder why the English speaking world tends to celebrate on Christmas Day rather than Christmas Eve

Jumpingintosummer · 18/08/2021 21:13

Candle
Hot chocolate/marshmallows (adults have rum in theirs at our house)
Chocolates
A book each?

Mustbethewine · 19/08/2021 00:34

Christmas pyjamas and slippers (we got some beautiful ones in m&s last year) something to do together like ingredients to make cookies, a movie to watch, hot chocolate and popcorn, a personalised Christmas bauble each, personalised Christmas mug

Sn0tnose · 19/08/2021 19:44

We only really have new pyjamas (not Christmas themed but freshly washed so they’re nice to put on) and slippers, a Christmas film, hot chocolate for the velvetiser or a chocolate spoon if we just want to froth the milk and a huge bag of pick & mix Lindt from our local outlet shop.

But I do buy new brushed cotton Christmas themed bedding which goes on Christmas Eve, which is beautiful to get into after getting squeaky clean and into new pyjamas.
