Looking for days out/experience ideas for almost 7 year old girl

Hi, we are booking Harry potter world tickets for our son for Christmas and I'm looking for a experience/day out to take our 6 year old (almost 7 at Christmas). It will just be me, her and DH as we would like to spend some one on one time with her and she isn't coming to Harry potter world as she isn't interested.

She likes unicorns/mermaids etc. Usual 6 year old girl stuff! We are in Kent, can travel, but not too far as we will be leaving the baby with my mum. Will hopefully be early 2022 as her birthday is in march so no where completely outside as it will be freezing!

Anything your 6/7 year olds have loved?! Thanks

Is Brighton too far? This looks fab

JimmyLennon · 15/08/2021 21:33

No Brighton isn't too far as we could also get the train. Looks great, thanks

Disney on Ice was loved by my dc around that age, as was a zookeeper for a day experience.

London Zoo or Hobbledown

JimmyLennon · 16/08/2021 15:03

Ah I had forgotten about dancing on Ice. She would probably like that, I just worry about paying a fortune for a ticket where we can't see anything! I think she would prefer London zoo with her brother to play with, but it's a good day out. Thanks

I looked at that this morning and she would love it but ticket prices are Shock they start at £73 for the seats right at the back!

Alpaca / llama walking? I booked a lovely experience for me and my mother for Mother’s Day - we walked over Dartmoor and had a lovely afternoon picnic mid through.

Crown Jewels at the Tower of London? Shrek Adventure/ London Eye/ Aquarium on Southbank?

Polar express uk? If your doing Harry Potter with one child a film orientated day out with the other seems a good idea?

JimmyLennon · 19/08/2021 07:12

These all look good, I will check them out. Thanks

Smaller theatre groups do fabulous family/child friendly plays at Christmas (and all year round) much more affordable than big Westend shows or Pantos with soapstars. Usually, because the venue is smaller, children have a better view and can get involved more. See what's around near you.

The Snowman at The Peacock Theatre. Sort of a ballet. My DDs loved it at a similar age.
