Toy/doll like lego figure but bigger

My 2 year old loves playing with his brother's lego figures, pulling the heads and bodies apart and putting them back together again. He loves any fiddly toy like this and they're usually tiny little bits which I have to watch him like a hawk when he plays with them, as he has been known to pop pieces in his mouth!

Does anyone know of any toys like these on a bigger scale that have pieces that are larger and less of a choking hazard?

Or any toy u know of that's good for kids who like fiddly things/ putting things together again and taking apart?

Kid k’nex ? Might be what you are looking for

Lego duplo is a bit chunkier

SherryPalmer · 13/08/2021 16:01

Duplo is large lego but it sounds like you specifically want figures he can take apart and the duplo figures don’t do that (probably to prevent choking).

Mr Potato head?

We've got duplo figures and the figures don't come apart.

Funnily enough mr potato head is one of his other fave toys!

Kid k nex looks interesting. Thanks all!

Playmobil - my 7 year old still loves all his playmobil characters & boat, house, vehicles.

Smartmax animals are age 12 months + but he's probably coming to the end of the putting things in his month stage at 2?

Or similar magnetic magformers do stick-o range, but the tiles are also great.

Kids knex we have which is nice for something different.

The magnetic animals look great, thanks!

We have some magnetic magformer type bits and he's not got on with those.

Popoids are good for much larger people and animals.

There used to be things called mash-ems (I think) where you could swap the body parts. Not sure if they still do them.

What about LOL dolls? They do boy ones and pets as well as girls. My youngest has been playing with them since she was little, just take away any of the smaller bits.
