Stocking fillers for 9 year old boy

Toddlerfuntimes · 12/08/2021 16:00

I would love some ideas for stocking fillers for a 9 year old. I love doing stockings but struggling for ideas as he gets older. He is into football, Lego and gaming. In the past I have managed to find loads of things but now he’s not interested in toys I’m finding it harder. Girls are so much easier to find things for as they get older. I want his stocking to be fun and filled with things he will enjoy.

Following as I'm in exactly the same situation. I've done toiletries and sweets before but could do with inspiration

Top trumps, small lego and sweets basically.

This year Im attempting to become a minimalist and therefore avoid all presents "for the sake of it" so I don't know what to get at all.

Mincepiesallyearround · 12/08/2021 17:35

Book like jokes for 9 year olds. Bubble bath. Glow sticks. Silly socks. Chocolates or sweets. Something silly and jokey like a microphone or one of those small cans made to look like a tin of peanuts and when you take the lid off out jumps a springy snake. A proper slinky for the stairs?

Petal7 · 12/08/2021 18:04

FreeSpirits · 12/08/2021 19:20

Do you wrap all stocking filler presents individually or put them straight in the stocking as they are?!

MrsPumpkinSeed · 12/08/2021 19:25

I do but only because it slows things down and I like to record a good video 😂
But I just roughly wrap in tissue and sellotape. Nothing fancy.

reallyworriedjobhunter · 12/08/2021 19:47

Shameless follow!

MrsPumpkinSeed · 12/08/2021 19:48

Straight in the stocking as they are. After wrapping all the presents that go in the sacks for my 5 kids, I'll be buggered if I'm wrapping a pencil and a tube of sweets as well!
Petal7 · 13/08/2021 11:24

@Toddlerfuntimes I use a tip I saw on another Christmas thread here and put most of the stocking fillers in little paper bags (from Ebay). You can get stripy/festive ones. I then buy sheets of festive stickers to seal them. They look great and are v quick to do.

yoshiblue · 13/08/2021 11:41

Pringles
A can of coke/similar as a treat!
Moon ball (John Lewis sells them) we've taken ours all over in the past year
Lego keyring/luggage tag (will be other bits/pieces in Lego Shop if you're near one)
Pokemon cards
Minecraft coins (you may be able to get these on a physical card voucher - I need to look)
Fluffy socks

Jumpingintosummer · 13/08/2021 11:56

American sweets
Uno or monopoly card games
Lush shower jelly - twilight looks like deep space
This space bundle is great - put it in teen DS’s stocking a few Christmas’ ago.
