9 year old girl ?

DD will have her 9th birthday in Nov followed swiftly by Xmas. I'm starting to think ahead and not getting anywhere other than a dressing gown & slippers!
She is not into toys and hasn't been for a while- was never into dolls etc.
She does like Lego friends but we have sooo much I'm not sure about getting even more.
She likes science things - she already got a microscope and slides last year and snap circuits.
She loves to read - I will pick her up some books but she uses the library a lot.
She's recently got into clothes but I always feel like clothes are a boring gift for a kid and I would buy them anyway.
What are you thinking of for 9/10 year old girls.

My 8 year old is very in to clothes and shoes and likes them as gifts. The last 2 years we've downsized on gifts a lot though and get them short breaks/experiences for the main present instead. This year 2 experience days in a niche discipline of a favourite sport, the one before (sadly cancelled because of covid) was a trip to Efteling theme park in Netherlands which should have happened in the water holidays. They were given a laminated shirt with the explanation and a link to go and watch videos of what they've be doing both times.

DD is 9 and loves clothes as gifts.

Highlights have included Nike gym leggings and T-shirt, a fur coat and ripped jeans!

She also likes tickets to the theatre, a night away and spending money.

Electronics are always popular too.

Concert tickets, a fit bit for kids? (My 9year old loved hers) kids perfume, Lush set, bath bombs etc, a nice necklace/bracelet, scooter, cinema vouchers

That's all I can think my 9 year old enjoys, it's that weird age between being a kid and teenager

What about an iPad or similar as a joint gift?

Have you thought of roller skates? These were a massive hit with my DD.

Tie dye set, could then design her own t-shirts & bags.
Bath bombs I always recommend Mrs snowballs bubble boutique, cheaper and loads better than lush.

If she has lots that she wants already perhaps go for an experience? Theatre trip or science museum visit with special guided tour or something?

Things my 9yo has/wants, Nintendo switch, hover board with go kart attachment, roller skates, Harry Potter Lego, other Lego. She’s very into Harry Potter and Star Wars, she’s begged for a Baby Yoda (Grogo) and I’ve bought lots of Harry Potter themed stuff. All my DDs love getting clothes but love going shopping themselves more. Poppits and other fidget stuff are big this year.

@Onelittlepiglet those dress design manequins and fabrics are fantastic- great too for niece and DD!

@goldpendant they really are fun! I bought a big bag of fabric scraps on eBay too so they have lots of different kinds of fabric to make outfits out of. Keeps them occupied for hours!

This age is tricky. I took my DS to a big toy shop to get an idea what he would want and the things he liked. He walked round twice and wasn't interested in anything!

Would she like to make clothes? I was using a sewing machine at that age. Hoby Craft have a 'midi' machine that is small but has all the basic stiches.

They do have an even cheaper one but the midi you can make most things on the sewing bee with.

I also loved my electronics kit but it looks like that has already been covered. Maybe a raspberry Pi? If you got the Pi for her birthday you could give her accessories at Xmas.

My dd was 9 in June. Shes quite young in her tastes compared to some on here as she still loves her dolls. But for Christmas she is getting.
New backpack and lunchbox - Harry potter from primark.
A box full of beauty face masks with new headband for pushing back her hair.
Box with nail varnishes, stickers, gems, the things that hold your toes apart.
Sweet box with all her favourite treats I usually say no to in the shops.
Selection of fidget type toys.
New skipping rope.
Hair scrunchies (just got a big pack from tkmaxx for £6.99 with soooo many colours).
A new fur coat as she loves hers and it's wearing out a bit now.
Posters for her bedroom.
Cuddly toy - llama as its her favourite animal.
Duvet cover and fleece blanket.
Jewellery (she got a beautiful jewellery box last year)
Lip balms, hair/body glitter.

Last year a milk frother went down really well as a joint gift for my dds, and they've loved hot chocolates from it. Plus dd2 loves the laminator. She spends ages drawing pictures and posters we laminate for her wall, or if she's collected some flowers/leaves. Photos from days out. A bit random but if she's into arts and crafts it's quite fun.

Games dd enjoys are no more llamas, the dog game (4.50 in the entertainer!), top trumps, payday, exploding kittens, snakes and ladders, jenga, guess who. She likes game of life and monopoly too but they are quite long so we don't play those often..

These are great! I'll keep these in mind for girls. Found one at symths for a good price.
