Ok I've posted elsewhere in products and had no replies.
I'm looking for a new digital camera that is really good for taking video clips of a few minutes so I can transfer them to the pc.
It should also be compact, look good (yes I know....), have at least 8 megapixels.

And a shake prevention thingy (can't remember the official name - image stabiliser?)

Price not too big an issue but most seem under £200 anyway.

I am looking at the Casio Exilim 1200 or 880 but can't decide which - or should I look at some others??

Maybe I'm being conned by marketing blurb that suggests I need loads of megapixels?!

Could you try typing "reviews digital camera" in google, There are sites where consumers have tried them out etc and give their opinion?

Have recently bought the kodak easyshare m753 which seem pretty good and takes short video clips. Haven't had it long to test it out properly mind!

I did Missy - good suggestion - but I'm totally confused as they all say different things!

I would say then go with the one you feel looks and feels right in your hand - I know you said price isn't an issue but you may even be able to get an even bigger in the nearly christmas / january sales

sorry missed some words out! ... bigger bargain, more pixels for your money...

brimfull · 28/11/2007 15:58

better to get decent digital zoom than loads of mega pixels .

you only need +++ megapixels if your going to enlarge your photos hugely.

brimfull · 28/11/2007 16:02

this website might help or confuse you more

i have a canon ixus 70 and would recommend.

very simple to use
no delay
fab zoom

Thanks all. Good info re pixels. What is the minimum needed do you think?

Most seem to only have 3x optical zoom....is that enough?
