What could I put in a clear glass vase for an 85 year old. Not flowers!

I've got her some jelly babies but have seen a nice glass vase and thought I could stick something in it, but what?

can you put the jelly babies in it and other sweeties ?

Was thinking that but they might go a bit funny, might they?

We probably wont see her till a few days before xmas.

if they sat around uncovered they might get a bit sticky, so perhaps some wrapped sweets instead ? eat the jelly babies yourself ! Things with jolly wrappers like Roses or Quality Street would look festive

this concept is beyond me, am I missing something fundamental?

its a bit hard to buy for an 85 year old. My only thoughts is that she always has frsh cut flowers and vases everywhere so another wont hurt.

I was thinking of putting some little lights in but I think that concept will go straight over her head.

oh get her some good quatlity plastic ones from John Lewis, they bloody love em, last for ever.

get her some decent artificial flowers to go in it ?
