Nigel Slater's The Christmas Chronicles

I bought this wonderful book for my daughter as part of her Christmas present last year. Then I treated myself to a copy in the spring!
It's a fantastic book, full of stories, photography, poetry and 100 recipes for the Christmas season. As a hardback book with gold foil detailing it would even look gorgeous laid out as part of your Christmas decorations.

Each chapter roughly follows the days leading up to Christmas, and we've decided to read and share our thoughts about each chapter in the run up to Christmas, starting from late November if I remember correctly.

I thought it would be a lovely thing to share with someone you love. Currently £18.29 on Amazon.

I started picking blackberries yesterday. It feels like autumn is almost here! Looking forward to cosy evenings reading my book soon.

I'm so excited! I lent my copy to a neighbour last year, need to get it back soon.

I tried to do a cook-along last year. Didn't make everything in it, but most of the stuff I did do was really good!

Well I did get my book for my birthday on Tuesday which I was not expecting as we came back from a week away the day before and I thought there would be no way DH would have been organised enough so far in advance as to order it before before we go away. How wrong I was! The book is even lovelier than I imagined and I must confess I have started to dip into it a little. So far very impressed that Nigel can find so many ways to describe winter ('crisp' seems to pop up quite a bit though )

I've just bought a second hand copy on Amazon (trying to use them less but had a gift card and this seemed like a worthy purchase, along with used copies of Green Feast and Delia's Christmas!) Can't wait for the magic to begin!

I bought a copy on eBay (signed no less) a couple of weeks ago after reading this thread. And I say I’m never included to buy stuff I see online

I've just bought this. I'm pleased to see the good recommendations for it.

I'm going to order it too. I bought it a couple of years ago, read it before Christmas and loved it so much that I gave it to my dad for Christmas. I don't know if he ever read it, I must ask him - but I'm having another copy for me this year!
