I want to get my DSS 11 and DSD 9 a Christmas theme book for December as DD who will be 2 by then will have new Christmas theme books and I want to include them.

I've got the new Christmasaurus book on order for DSD as she loved the other ones but I don't know what to get DSS.

Does anyone have any christmassy books suitable for an 11 year old?

What about a classic fantasy set at Christmas- The Box of Delights or The Dark is Rising?

Matt Haig has 3 Christmas books suitable for that age group; the girl who saved christmas, a boy called christmas, father christmas and me (can’t remember the correct order, sorry!)

Thank you. I'll have a look at them.

I was also going to recommend The Box of Delights, or Letters from Father Christmas by Tolkien

JK Rowling is publishing a new book in the Autumn, the Christmas Pig. Apparently for ages 8+.

A friend mentioned she had bought a book called Doctor Proctor's Fart Powder: Can Doctor Procter save Christmas?
I have no idea if it's any good but for reference her DS is 12.

There's a lovely illustrated book I saw on amazon, I think its in whsmith too which is a novelisation of disneys the nutcracker and the four realms movie.

I second the books from Matt Haig 'The girl who saved Christmas', ' A boy called christmas' and 'Father Christmas and me'
We also really enjoyed 'The Christmasaurus' by Tom Fletcher, that's suitable for ages 7-12 years old.

I loved The Dark Is Rising at that age.

A Christmas Carol? A classic and probably about right for an 11 year old (and if a bit tricky you can read it together).
