I drew the 'short straw' in our office Secret Santa and got our boss - he is a middle-aged man and I have absolutely no idea what to buy him! I have only known him for 6 months and not really on a personal level (so don't even know what he drinks!) so any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

I'd go with the safe option of a bottle or two of wine or something I'm afraid.

I was going to add that even if he doesn't drink it himself at least its handy to have in the house for when people come round.

Edam - we have all only known him for 6 months as that was when he started and none of us have really got to know him.

OR you can get those 'Port with cheese' (Stilton usually) sets in Supermarkets. That's definitely in the middle-aged bracket.

Like I say, doesn't matter if he doesn't drink it, any guests he has over Christmas might!

'Schotts Miscellany' is a nice little book to give a man. Full of useful/useless information, but beautifully presented.
