Have you seen a truly fab angel costume anywhere? (Yes, in the SHOPS ...)

The Woolies and Adams ones look pretty good to me - just wondered if there was anywhere else I should look before I buy?

(Got the lectures about getting out my needle and thread last year when DD1 was a shepherd, so no need to repeat - will just refer to las year's thread, thanks )

Angels Fancy Dress do awesome costumes here

or here

Might be a bit much if it's for nativity though...

ASDA have a range of nativity costumes this year, very cute sheep and presumably there's an angel one too. TESCO usually have them too.

Have you tried ebay, that way even if you don't get the needle and thread out you can practice being virtuous becuase you've recycled.

Not going to lecture. Just going to point out that some people can't afford to buy and it seems a bit....sad..that money or lack of it can enter into Nativity plays.

I see what you're saying seeker but with the best will in the world I couldn't make an angels outfit and to be honest have absolutely no desire or time to learn how to sew!

Some people are just busy and I'm sure would rather spend time with DC's than spend it making costumes! Other people might not have the money but have the time and some will need help from a friend/the school etc. There will always be one kid who has an amazing parent who goes completely overboard handmaking a fabulous outfit and everyone will end up feeling crap in comparison anyway. Tis a lose lose!!

Gosh I'm cheery today!

Nowadays it is cheaper to buy things over making them!Food, clothes, everything!
I was dead set on making my dd a pinny but found one in the SHOPS (lol) for only 75p!!!!
Thread alone would have cost that much plus electricity, time, material and a pattern!
Would have cost me 15x more to make it myself and it would have been naff
This year I got my 3mth old a miss santa dress and shrug(suitable for everyday wear) for only £6 from Matalan.

Back to the point...I would go for ebay as well as one of those 'amazing parents' that make their own may be auctioning off last years creation that you can pass of as your own
