Stuck for ideas for 16m old dd2...

I really haven't got a clue about what to get dd2 for Christmas.

I can't bear the thought of more plastic tat and we are running out of space, bigtime!

Also have dd1, who will be just 4, so lots of 'hand-me-downs' around already.

If it were just dp and I, we would probably just put some money in her account and get her some clothes.

Unfortunately we have loads of lovely and well-meaning relatives who send us money beforehand to 'buy something we think she'll like'. Am very grateful but genuinely out of ideas... help!

have a look at happyland stuff from early learning.

DD is 18 months and we buy her lots of wooden toys. For Christmas she is getting this.

If you Google wooden toys you'll find loads of different companies who specialise in them.

Little people stuff
colouring inn books
crayons/pencils

Norah - loads of HappyLand stuff already, courtesy of dd1! (who still is Happily playing with it)

Lilred - That is lovely! Like the handy storage box, too... will be off to Boots pronto! Thanks

tasja - not sure our white walls are ready for crayon-armed dd2 yet. She's already chalked them up

ah yes of course. any new stuff to add to what they have already, do they have the airport and the fire station?

fwiw dd is 18 months old, she's getting a play kitchen, a noisy aeroplane thing, happyland house and farm, an aquadraw mat thing, and lots of colouring in stuff with an easel.

it is a difficult age maybe. they're too old for baby toys, but not old enough for the 3+ stuff. i look at most things and think well she'll be bored of that in 6 months. or th eolder stuff i think she won't 'get' yet.

We have the Happyland train set. DD1 is getting the Fun fair for her birthday (in Dec...aagh!)

Something with cheeky and crafty storage solutions would definitely be a winner...
