Julezboo - DS used to have one of those bathrobe / poncho type things with a chicken head hood and wing bits sown on to the bits where your arms come out...I'll see if we still have it - though I have a feeling it went to the charity shop.

Oh dear - this is the season of where the Magic of Christmas is threatened by stressed parents having to make complicated costumes as if they were professional wardrobe mistresses!

I saw this made on Martha Stewart programme last week in US. It's really easy, looks fabulous.

dd went as an Owl for book week. We did brown top adn shorts, cream tights and wings made from an old brown silky top of mine with the sleeves cut up along hte seam so they draped over her arms and a mask made from felt (bought from Wollies for £1)
