budget? I've just got a red double decker wooden bus thing with people in from habitat (but you can get similiar elsewhere online etc.) for nephew in NZ. liked it cos uk theme but genuinely nice wooden toy - £29 though and pretty heavy for posting......

If way above budget have a look at www.thebookpeople.co.uk for some classic books - winnie the pooh, dear zoo, gruffalo etc....excellent value from there.

Bath toys/bath books

Am trying to remember what we've sent/received

TheBlonde · 11/11/2007 20:26

The bus sounds a bit heavy

I guess 20 quid is my budget

Could you buy from a NZ site and get them to post whatever you buy?

llareggub · 11/11/2007 22:51

My son is 1 and likes anything noisy, particularly with buttons to press. Fire engines are a favourite.

Ask on living overseas might get some good suggestions of NZ websites and save on postage, books and ELC stuff usually well received historically expensive not so sure about now. Gap good for clothes.
How about London t-shirt/bus combo? Maybe good idea for a year or two

eidsvold · 12/11/2007 03:33

There is an ELC store in NZ but it is listed on an aussie site - perhaps you can order from there and have it delivered rather than send from UK. Perhaps you can purchase some ELC vouchers for him to pick something he would like - vaguely remember MIL being told she could purchase vouchers in the Uk that we could spend in Aus - might be worth checking if that is the case. ELC stuff is rather expensive (here in Aus) BUT fab.

I do know ELC toys go down a treat here in Aus.

No experience of above but might be worth a google for online NZ shops.

I know dd1 loved Kipper books when she was about that old. Something you can't really get here in Aus.

buzzybee · 12/11/2007 04:39

20 quid is a bit over $50 kiwi.

Some websites here you might like to look at:

www.cheekybubs.co.nz/

www.winkalotts.co.nz/shop.php?func=14&DPT=c&DCI=338&S=1fbf6f8bb58b84e3dcd9c9268e1fb606

www.stork-to-chalk.co.nz/products.html

All will post within NZ no probs and you should be able to pay on-line with credit card.

If nothing else might give you some ideas!

TheBlonde · 12/11/2007 08:32

Lots of fab ideas, will check them out later, thanks

How about some nice soft baby shoes? These are easy to post as very light and hard to break. Inch Blue and Star Child have some lovely ones for boys.

MrsBadger · 12/11/2007 21:23

finger puppets yes yes yes

or mobile from Flensted

TheBlonde · 12/11/2007 22:08
