I want to make a pressie for a friends little girl based around what she's likely to like doing over the next 6 months or so. She will be one just before christmas. I'm after the types of things they like doing rather than pressie ideas!!!! e.g. putting things in containers / tea parties etc....!

Fab cheap pressie (for a first will prob. have them otherwise) is a set of stacking cups can do so much with them, pour bath water, drink pretend tea, pile them up and push them over, bash them, put things in them. So a kind of answer for you there, mine loved making a noise so marracas etc, also loved wooden blocks, something nice to chew on.(but what they like chewing changes every day and usually isn't what you want them chewing on!

Jigsaws/puzzles for 18mths (ish) the wooden ones are good, ELC do some great ones, Galt do a good set of two piece ones in cardboard, M&S also does good boxed ones.

carboard boxes
more wrapping paper
the foamy packing bits
andmore cardboard boxes.
someitmes just to be different, they like playing with pots and pans, and real wooden sppons. dont try to fob them off with toy ones. they know thedifference.
