theUrbanDryad · 06/11/2007 17:48

i used to put up a pair of tights. in my brother's room. i was a bit freaked out by the idea of Santa creeping around my room at night, apparently...

glammama · 06/11/2007 17:48

What's a Hawkins Bazaar? Sounds great as the five things I have bought for stocking are already totalling over £20. That's the problem with picking up bits here and there.

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 06/11/2007 17:48

is the camden one superior in some way CD? its out of your way isnt it?

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 06/11/2007 17:49

ah yes, the pound shop. classic. in northampton, we have the 99p shop, for all the people who are too tight to spend a pound on their packets of plastic cutlery. IT'S A PENNY!! fuxxake...

put a bag of salt in and tell them they've been too naughty for santa this year...

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 06/11/2007 17:51

pirategirl · 06/11/2007 17:53

let's swap tat/crap/crud is my thinking.

go to the toyboxes, dig out 'bits' in good condition.

we can have swapsies. cos i swear I do not want to part with another penny, to put stuff back in the two bulging boxes in my living room.

There's some bloody good stuff in there. All unplayed with by boxing day.

Hassled · 06/11/2007 17:53

Yellow Moon are pretty good - bit more of an artsy crafty bent some suitably cheap tat in amongst it.

MrsBadger · 06/11/2007 17:54

I go to the pocket money toy section in the local toyshop
then Tesco
then the pound shop
then the geeky hippy Natural World type shop
then give up and go to Hawkins Bazaar

yaddayah · 06/11/2007 17:54

My two (3 and 5) get

1: An annual (postman pat and spiderman)
2: A satsuma (they NEVER get the joke)
3: A pair of socks with a christmas theme to wear on the day
4: New crayons
5: Bubble bath (in naff shaped plastic overpriced bottle Dr Who and Winnie the Pooh)
6: Small toy/game (last year they got top trumps)

Is that tat enough for you ?

Like the title BTW

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 17:56

Mine are getting the snowman and reindeer tumbler thingummies with chocolates from Lakeland.

And some other things.

Definitely a satsuma.

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 17:56

And something lego-ish.

MrsBadger · 06/11/2007 17:56

oh and M&S or Thorntons for the chocolate money

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 06/11/2007 17:56

pirategirl, you are a genius! think you should start a thread and set up a swap thingy.

may try yellow moon, ta.

lol mrsB.

We have chocolate euros here in the East End. We're so continental.
