Can't find reviews on these- any opinions gratefully received! Looking to buy either for a nearly 5 yr old girl -are they any good? Thanks

we have the ELC normal CD player which i know isn't the same but do check whether the adaptor (to plug it in) is included. The CD player eats batteries, so we ended up buying the adaptor to plug it in, which cost £15. The amount it therefore cost in total was £50 which is ridiculous for a basic, pink plastic CD player.

We bought dd1 the ELC singalong cd player last christmas when she was nearly 3yrs and she loves it.

I would suggest that you get some rechargable batteries (take 4 'c' batteries).

we have the old style pink cd player and dd has ahd lots of use from it. Got it ex display from elc and got an adaptor off ebay so look on there as they sell new adaptors paid £9 for mine.

We have the ELC cd player and had to pay £15 in the end for an adapter as I couldn't find one on ebay in time. I bought the player with 20% off though and I like ELC as if it breaks they will just swap it. The buttons are big and easy for dd1 (4) to understand so it is a success as far as I am concerned. Actually I think Grandpa paid for it for her birthday so a bargain for me all in all

WE have the ELC player, you can buy the adapters anywhere, we paid £9 but you can buy cheaper but there is a stock problem everywhere.

Not that impressed with it, have had it replaced already. The door kind of hangs open(bad design)you have to push it up to shut it flimsy and the last one snapped after a couple of days(ds is careful with his toys)also one of the microphones had broken.

We looked everywhere for a kids cd player though so let us know if you find a better brand. If this one breaks I'm getting a refund and will look elsewhere. Think ELC should know better than to supply a cd player without a plug, it wasn't cheap, ds loves it though.

thanks for all the advice about the cd player- my dd is quite hard on toys so maybe it would be too flimsy.. How ridiculous to not include an adapter!! Anyone else/anyone with the digital arts and crafts thing? Someone must have it!!

Also thinking about the arts and craft studio DD1 has seen it in the ELC catalogue and really wants one. Must be quite new as there are no reviews. Does anyone have it already?? Also, wondering if there are similar products about?

YuckIHateCheeseStrings · 07/11/2007 20:33

I like the look of this CD player, although it doesn't have a mike but ac adaptor is included.

here

We have just bought the Arts & Craft studio and are planning to look at it tonight, if we feel its rubbish plan to take it back and exchange for something else. So once the kids are in bed we will check it out so watch this space.

ellasmum1 · 11/11/2007 17:19

why is it rubbish Jenkel?

I didnt say it was rubbish, we were going to look at it and if it was rubbish take it back

Anyway, it does look quite good but a real pain to install it, my dh works with computers and knows what he is talking about. Anyway, installed it on 1st computer and wouldnt work, even though the computer is specked up enough, but worked on the other computer fine. So you really do need to make sure your pc is powerfull enough.

We are going to keep as I do think dd who is 5 will have fun with it.
