Nintendo DS games for DD (8). Any recommendations?

Bought my DD a nintendo ds last xmas but wanted to get her a couple of new games. She already has nintendogs, bratz and cooking mama - which are all relatively good games. This year wanted to get something away from the caring for animals thing. As all games for girls seem to lean towards caring for animals, dogs, cats, hamsters and ponies. Was thinking about Brain Academy - is it suitable for an 8yo. Any ideas please?

Not tried brain academy but brain training is fine. Pokemon is very (too) popular. Mysims is supposed to be good.

there is a high school musical one coming out

ClareL · 01/11/2007 18:09

We have just bought the High School Musical nintendo game and it is rubbish. I wouldn't recommend it for 8yo. Ended up cutting our losses in GAME and replacing it with Tamagotchi Corner Shop.

I will check out our warioware.

Thanks.

Another vote for Animal Crossing - my 7 year old loves it - best value for money game we've bought. She also likes Supermario and Princess Peach.

pointydog · 01/11/2007 20:09

what's the farm one? Harvest Moon? dd1 loves that

My DD never been interested in any Mario games. I've tried to talk her into Princess Peach which I think is linked to Mario - but she's never been interested. Don't know why!!

RE the High Scool Musical, we have got DD this for Christmas, is it OK for a 5 yr old?

MrsBoo · 02/11/2007 16:23

Another vote for Animal Crossing - and she might like Mario Kart too

RosemaryWoodhouse · 12/11/2007 16:07

What are the most fun games for this? I am buying games for a 9 y/o girls. I don't want any educational 'learning is fun' crap; I don't want to be the boring aunt. What are the games girls absolutely dig?

Hulababy · 12/11/2007 16:09

DD (5yo) has the HSM one coming for Christmas too. And Brain Academy and teh new Disney Princess one.

Mario and Animal Crossing are favoruites here. If anything like the Wii version My SIms is good.

DarthVader · 16/11/2007 17:14

I'm considering Mario Kart for my 8 year old

GrapefruitMoon · 17/11/2007 08:23

I vote for animal crossing too....
