What bargains have you guys picked up? I was initially underwhelmed by sales online but bought some stuff past 2 days.

Vertbaudet sale upto 50% off. (I ordered a pink fancy dress with cat toy in a xmas gift box for £13, navy beanie hat with pompom i think about £4 odd and a set of linen dolls of mr and Mrs fox for £14 odd as I've had my eye on those for ages)

Poundtoy further 50% off with the code - NEWYEAR50 (I ordered soft dolls of disney princesses snow white and belle. £5 each after code applied and sonic boom stickers for my son 50p).

Amazon - i picked up the fisher price disney little people frozen sledge with sven, anna and kristoff figures for 12.99. And also olafs little library book set for £10.

Ohh thanks for this thread. I’ve been doing some bargain hunting the last week or so. I’ve got....
Toiletries from boots sale, the ghost perfume sets are brilliant value for money I would highly recommend them.
I’ve ordered some happy socks for DH, an led glow message frame from amazon which was down to £12.99, some make up from revolution, stocking fillers from Lisa angel and I had a little look on not on the high street last night and found some leather cable tidy straps for DH and a ‘bits and bobs’ holder which includes a watch stand for half price.
So I’ve pretty much got DH bits just need main pressie nearer the time.
I’ve also got DD age 6 a lovely sparkly skirt and top set from monsoon.
Oh also some scarves from the sale on love lolo. They arrived yesterday and are lovely so that’s a couple of friends sorted.
I need to stop and regroup now!
I love looking for bits in the sales. I always like to try to get to the boots sale as I think the 50% off can be really good value.
Some of the things such as the happy socks & monsoon outfit aren’t what I would call cheap but I would never have paid full price for them.

I’m also just checking out the Oliver Bonas sale. Some cute stocking fillers on there. Like the look of the hair lights for my niece

livingthegoodlife · 08/01/2021 19:25

I haven't really found anything good yet.

I usually buy Heston pudding each year in January but none this year. & Wrapping.

I bought some hideous cat themed Christmas cards for 25p which my DD adored and will give to classmates.

Looking out though?

TFSRM · 08/01/2021 20:17

Thanks for this thread @Cherryrainbow, great idea.

I hadn't heard of hairlights but now they are on my list of stocking fillers for this year @Daisy829

Daisy829 · 08/01/2021 20:21

@TFSRM I hadn’t either I just came across them doing some online mooching and the reviews are really good so I thought be fun for a 10 & 12 yo. I’m trying not to buy too much but keeping my eye out for a few different things.

PatchworkElmer · 08/01/2021 20:36

I’ve had no luck really! All the stuff I’ve bought has been for now really- although they were bargains (winter boots and scarves etc from Mountain warehouse and some warm jumpers in the Next sale). I did also get some lovely penguin towels from Next to put away for Christmas 2021!

newbie2021 · 08/01/2021 20:39

Will you all still want the things you bought next year?

Daisy829 · 08/01/2021 20:44

@newbie2021 yes that’s where you have to be careful. I wouldn’t buy any main gifts now. Mainly stocking fillers and bits for the kids. A lot of these items tend to be the same theme...socks/hair accessories/stationery/smellies/clothes

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/01/2021 20:58

I've been shopping the Disney store sale. Got a set with Anna, elsa and Kristoff from. Frozen and 7 outfits for dds birthday in May and a Rapunzel and flynn set to put away for Christmas. The site already had reductions then code 'alice15' takes another 15% of orders over £50. Plus free delivery over £50. I ended up with £90 of toys for £51

Cherryrainbow · 09/01/2021 21:41

Awesome ideas and contributions everyone :) this may help out people who have upcoming birthdays to buy for as well, doesn't just have to be for Xmas x

Had a mooch on the entertainer last night. The have 25% off a £20 spend. I got a couple of bits in the sale grow your own flower garden, doodleflix spinner & fly it wheels rip it. Some for birthdays some for Xmas. They were only £3/4 each.

Daisy829 · 10/01/2021 17:28

We got our children Diamond Dotz from hobby craft. They are ages 10 & 6 and we’ve just opened them. They are absolutely brilliant. I would highly recommend them the girls love them and can do them pretty much alone. I think these will be on the list for many Xmas & birthday pressies moving forward.

InDreamland · 12/01/2021 12:11

I'm really pleased with what I've bought so far - all online as we were tier 4 before lockdown.

So far bought plenty of childrens clothes from Joules, Frugi, Ralph Lauren, H&M and Next. Not all for Christmas 2021 but some are, rest are for birthday presents for the coming year and DD for the next 12 months.

Also got loads of lovely stocking filler type gifts in the Rex London sale. Beautiful things that I'm so happy with and looking forward to giving them. Can't believe how cheap they all were. I had to be restrained and just buy what was needed with specific people in mind, I could so easily have bought way more.

Stocked up on wrapping paper and Christmas cards from WHSmith.

I've got my list all set up for who to buy for, what's bought so far for them and a running total of spend so I don't forget.

Daisy829 · 12/01/2021 13:23

Oh I’ll have a look at Rex London. I ended up on menkind yesterday & picked up a couple of bits.

Daisy829 · 12/01/2021 13:49

Rex London is fab! Think my girls are sorted with stocking fillers now. I got a couple of bits for the pressie cupboard too.

InDreamland · 12/01/2021 17:36

@Daisy829 glad you like it. I love Rex London and I thank those on the Christmas bargains thread for introducing me to it. I bought lots in their summer sale for Christmas just gone and the gifts went down really well. This year I have bought lots of pretty stationery (plus other bits too for grown ups) as I think they're really cute things that kids in the family will love and they're a bit different too. For 50p or £1 a stationery item you can't go wrong. With a few items each it looks like I've spent loads more. They're lovely filler gifts to go with their main one.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 12/01/2021 19:04

I hate Brexit. Now I cant join in on these threads because I have to pay VAT and a processing charge on anytjing over £8. Its such a lovely corner of the internet!

Daisy829 · 12/01/2021 19:45

@InDreamland I agree about the prices. I got the little wooden animal clips for 50p each & the jigsaw puzzles for less than £3 each & quite a few other bits. I do really really need to stop now though. I’ve never purchased from Rex London before but I’ll keep an eye on the sales!

InDreamland · 12/01/2021 21:47

@StrictlyAFemaleFemale oh no I really feel for you, that really sucks!

@Daisy829 I love their puzzles, I bought one in the summer sale along with puzzle blocks, stupidly thinking they'd be good for DD at Christmas.........far too young 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I've popped them in the drawer for Christmas this year when she'll be nearer 2 years old. What made me think a 10 month old could do a puzzle?

Daisy829 · 12/01/2021 22:35

Hahaha! It’s 2 year olds I’m buying for so hopefully will be fine.
I’m just looking at the Ted baker site. An extra 20% off sale prices with code MSE20.

InDreamland · 13/01/2021 16:24

@Cherryrainbow thanks for the poundtoys tip, I ordered some things off there. Looking forward to them being delivered now. Never used that site before and the prices seem really good, especially with the extra 50% off sale.

Flackattack · 13/01/2021 17:12

I bought too much junk off toys for a pound for stockings but I’m now going to have to take a look!

Got 7 mermaid dolls -Ariel and sisters - was £50 - with EXTRA10 now £13.50. I was tempted before!

AuntiePushpa · 14/01/2021 12:56

I really want some beautiful christmas tree baubles and was sure I'd be able to get a few at bargain prices at this time of year but can't find them. A couple of cat and toddler accidents over the festive period mean the tree was a bit bare in the end and I can never justify buying them full price. Please give me your tips!

InDreamland · 14/01/2021 14:47

@AuntiePushpa I bought lots of new baubles in the Lisa Angel summer sale which looked amazing on my tree. Paid 60p per bauble so a total steal, they're not as cheap this time in their sale but still reduced.

InDreamland · 14/01/2021 14:51

@AuntiePushpa there's also these in Argos if you're looking for cheaper ones.
