M&S Christmas food - hit and miss

I always order at least £100 worth of Christmas food from M&S but this is the first year I've found things to be hit and miss.
The hits were:
Cauliflower cheese
Chocolate pine cones
Brie en croute
Vegan nut roast
Black Forest gateaux

The misses were:
Pigs in blankets - full of gristle
Brandy cream, salted caramel cream and chocolate cream (all bought in store) - all just tasted of nothing!
Sausage wreath - really greasy

I was also really disappointed by all of their party food.

We didn't order but I bought a few items off the shelf.
Good:
Turkey crown was lovely
Pigs in blankets were tasty
Mini Collin cakes were surprisingly nice (never tried Colin before)
Box of mixed chocolate biscuits were good
Box of chocolate marzipan was delicious as always, just wish they did a bigger box!
Stilton & Brie - far superior taste to Tesco.

Not so good:
Fresh chocolate yule log (it was still tasty but not as good as last year)
Mini Christmas cupcakes. The chocolate sponge was dry with a strange taste and the buttercream decoration was vile. Very disappointing as a coupleof years ago they were lovely.

@I8toys throw them my way if you don’t want themGrin

Sofiaaaaa Opened 1 bag today - myself and ds2 were not quite sure - might have to give them another go later.

@I8toys yeah they are a bit weird at first as they’re unexpectedly salty, but definitely grow on you!

Cornish cruncher cheese biscuits were lovely.

Tin of shortbread fab too.

Not quite Christmas food however, I bought their frozen pan au choclat, croissants and chocolate cookie dough. I’d forgotten they were in the freezer until the weekend so had them on Sunday for breakfast and cookies later in the day. They are all amazing. The frozen pastries are as good as they are from a bakery freshly cooked and the cookies are delicious but you definitely just need one.

Really recommended.
