What presents went down well with 11/12 girls?

It's DD's birthday in a couple of weeks and were a bit stuck for present ideas. For Christmas she had a couple of Lego sets and lots of stationery. Older DD has just passed down lots of books to her so she doesn't really need any new books at the minute. She's not into make up, toiletry type things or clothes.

Any ideas??

The one I bought is out of stock, but similar to THIS went down well

Also a set for making proper jewellery, she's not really into makeup and much jewellery but she does like crafts and this was a grown up version of still being able to do crafts, she loves it and is looking forward to making herself some pieces, making pieces as gifts and even talking about maybe selling in the end we will see about that

I got proper stuff from ebay and put together a kit, didn't cost too much really doing it that way. Make sure to get some decent jewellery thread, I used amazon for this so i could check reviews, and I got some of the sets of beads from amazon too, but majority was from ebay. She has some gorgeous beads so I'm hoping for a piece of jewellery for mothers day 😂

Ah yes she does like craft stuff but a lot of the kids kids seem a bit young for her. Making up your own set is a good idea. I remember now I did get her some art stuff, canvases, new acrylic paints, etc for Christmas which she loves.

Bickertown · 02/01/2021 12:13

Sorry I don’t think those links have worked 😬

formerbabe · 02/01/2021 12:14

My dd is ten so a bit younger but she got a 3d puzzle and absolutely loved it...

ArthurShelbysTash · 02/01/2021 12:16

Yes to (fake) Oodie. My 12 year old hasn't taken hers off. In fact, I had to run it through a quick wash last night!

Neolara · 02/01/2021 12:17

A milk frother to make hot chocolate.

Lalallama · 02/01/2021 12:39

Ooh excellent idea on the fake Oodie, it might stop her dragging her duvet down onto the sofa every evening!

Are they generally one size? Did you get a specific kids one or adults?

Books are always the biggest hit for my bookworm but theboardgame Baker Street is a great success, kaleidoscope sticker mosaic book was leapt on & Rosie Flo's Colouring Art Gallery is really well made and lovely.

sleepwhenidie · 02/01/2021 12:47

Oodie
Silver DM’s
A super soft blanket/throw for her bed
Throw throw Burrito
Couple of vintage 80’s style tops (think Eleven from Stranger Things style)

MotheringShites · 02/01/2021 12:50

DD (12) loves her fake Oodie, record player, giant squishmallow and very soft throw for her bed.

Notchangednametoday · 02/01/2021 12:53

Our 11 DD loves her fake oodie just a general adult size one (it’s huge)
Also a Harry Potter 3D puzzle & writing set.
Little bottles of perfume and hairdryer seems to be her favourite

iloveredwine · 02/01/2021 12:55

Origami set with the paper and books went down well here as she watches YouTube video tutorials

Branleuse · 02/01/2021 12:58

Kudd.ly, which is like an oodie, but had good reviews and slightly cheaper. Mini fridge

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 02/01/2021 14:59

Following as I'm in the exact same position.

Things that DD loved for Christmas were LED lights and make up. I did a little bundle of make up & things and wrapped up in cellophane like from somewhere posh haha

I've picked her up a few bits fir her birthday in the Jack Wills sale (t shirt & flip flops)

She's asked for black converse high tops and black skinny jeans with rips. (12 going on 19 here!🙄)

Imonlydoingwhatican · 02/01/2021 15:05

Dd is 11

And agree fake oddie hasnt been taken off much. She also loves her fleece bedding (actually chanhed her bed herself first time ever)

Ilovemaisie · 02/01/2021 15:32

Rather adorably my 12 year old loved the Sylvanian Families I got as a stocking filler and has already spent some xmas money on some more.
12 year olds are so sweet..... sometimes !

Africa2go · 02/01/2021 15:41

LED lights here (they come on a strip and go all the way round her room, look great actually).

She already had a (fake) oodie which is probably a couple of years old now and still worn daily.

Mirror with bulbs around

New edition Alexa (which enables her to send text messages to my phone saying things like "Can I have a drink?" which she thinks is highly amusing!!)

A kilo jar of Percy Pigs Grin

XelaM · 02/01/2021 15:48

My daughter will be 11 in Feb and her favourite gifts are:

  1. Amazon vouchers;
  2. Money;
  3. Schleich horse sets (she is massively into horses) and probably has the whole Schleich collection by now;
  4. Electronics like iPad (for Christmas) and she would love ear pods for her birthday I'm sure
TickledOnion · 02/01/2021 15:49

Bubble tea kit, fake oodie, vouchers for horse riding lessons, baking subscription, wreck this journal, Polaroid.

Newgirls · 02/01/2021 15:51

Harry Potter chess set

Led lights

SE13Mummy · 02/01/2021 15:52

My 11-yr-old loves all things Snoopy, especially the dressing gown she received for Christmas, Fimo and accessories, her Alexa, Kindle (the ebook only one), colour change bedside clock, desk lamp, bath bombs from Lush and lots of books. Slipper socks and her beanbag chair get a lot of love too. She's not received all of these for Christmas, they're current favourites.
