this site is handy- we keep getting stock updates. We actually got ours on ehbay for a decent-ish price BUT even as we were buying a fortnight ago, sellers were bumping their prices sky high! Worth keeping an eye out though- ours came from Germany but is fine for UK use and arrived in under a week.

no where is getting a new stock until 1st dec apparently, hold fire and buy after then if you can.

LTH - I ordered 2, one from Dixons which has arrived and a back up from Freemans which I tried to cancel - they have said that it may still arrive as it comes direct from suppliers. I haven't had any paperwork/invoice etc yet and online its showing as order cancelled. On the offchance that its turns up I was going to refuse delivery but if it does arrive would like it? let me know -

Also might be worth you trying a Morrisons - they seem to get stock in quite regularly.

TwoToTango · 24/10/2007 20:31

game seem to have a few bundles

misspopov · 24/10/2007 20:38

You could order one from amazon in Germany, they are exactly the same as the UK one, you just need to set the language to english and use a travel adapter to plug them in. They are selling on ebay for over £200 but are actually cheaper to buy than in the UK. With amazon you can use your normal UK account and delivery address, full details of how to do this are available How about a wii

TTT, freemans were realy expensive when I looked there. I was hoping to get the Wii and sprtspack for £170-200.

I've saved the Wii site now and annoying had one on amazon(for £179) for a nano-second. it said 4 left but they had all gone by the time I logged in properly....

my ds NEEDS a wii too Help someone!!!!!

Oenophile · 31/10/2007 16:38

Just keep the stock-checker thing open all the time you're online and hopefully you'll be lucky, it's a bit of a pain cos it pops up expensive bundles as well as the plain Wii+sports and gets your hopes up but eventually you'll be lucky and get the basic bundle - and then move FAST - I got mine off Amazon after enduring the stock-checker updates for about a week non-stop and FINALLY getting an Amazon alert, but they were all sold out within 4 minutes... so it helps to have 'one-click ordering' set up.

Think of it like a little treasure hunt and you may even enjoy it

Oh and agree - why don't they just make MORE? it was exactly the same this time last year. Oh and if you want a Wii Play (very popular game packaged with essential extra controller for multiplaying) you have to start the whole merry old round all over again as those are OOS everywhere too (managed to get mine in person at Tescos by a fluke.)

piximon · 01/11/2007 15:04

I know you said online, but you might stand more chance if you can get in to an Argos. I was wandering around the shops at lunchtime today and popped into Argos. The sales assistant said they would get ONE this afternoon, but they don't show up in the online stock checker. They didn't have anything in store to say they were having frequent deliveries of small numbers.

So if you can get into a store and find a friendly sales assistant, ask when they are next expecting a delivery and if they can reserve one for you.

Hope this proves helpful to someone who wants to buy one. I know how disappointing it is when you want something but either can't locate one or don't want to pay ridiculously inflated prices. I can remember the nightmare fun I had buying a Furby one year when they were the present to buy and my MUM set her heart on one. Still she was happy.
