Quite excited about mine! Although I'll be in the kitchen all day. I love feeding people.

To start:

Baked Camembert, baguette, cranberry relish

Main, served family-style

Nut roast
Tarte Dijonnaise
Brussel sprouts with parmesan and chilli flakes
Roast potatoes with garlic and rosemary
Carrots and parsnips roasted with honey and orange juice
Roasted Jerusalem artichokes with garlic and rosemary
Peas

Pudding:

Christmas pudding with brandy butter
Cheese board

Then coffee with after eights and chocolate covered crystallised ginger to pick at, if anyone fancies it after all that!

We're pescetarian, I should have said, though the above menu is vegetarian (we use a vegetarian parmesan)

Keeping it pretty simple here:
No starter
M&S nut roast
Dauphinoise
Roast shallots, potatoes, carrots, parsnips (will honey the carrots and parsnips)
Stuffing
Sprouts and either green beans or peas

Christmas pud and brandy sauce

Prosecco, Bellini, white wine spritz with pomegranate seeds, beer or Rioja to drink depending on personal preference

bellagogosdead · 23/12/2020 20:07

Mashed potatoes
Roast potatoes
Veggie gravy
Veggie haggis
Leek stuffing
Carrots, peas, sprouts and broccoli- just boiled I don't like my vegetables messed with to much.
Bread sauce

Ginger cake and custard
And Christmas pudding and cream
After eights

Prosecco and sherry 'til we fall over Xmas Grin

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 23/12/2020 20:11

I always start with soup - pads up and orange
Main is veggie haggis and all the veggies (roast potatoes, honey carrots, sprouts, peas...)
Desert is an apple Christmas pud

Not sure about the cake - because my sister makes the best cakes ever and posted one (and a Christmas pudding) and the box has gone walk about 😭). I have a panatone somewhere....

soundsystem · 23/12/2020 20:12

Ooh, sounds lovely!

We're having:

Celeriac and apple soup

M&S vegan wreath thing
Pigs in blankets (vegan)
Stuffing
Roast potatoes
Roast carrots and parsnips
Carrot mash with garlic and parsley butter
Sprouts and chestnuts
Red cabbage thing (at DH's insistence, no one else is that fussed!)

Chocolate tiffin snowflake thing with raspberries and squirty cream/ice-cream (non-dairy alternatives for the vegans)

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 23/12/2020 20:12

bellagogosdead - haggis! Snap! Try it with mint sauce (sounds weird but it’s lovely).

Changechangychange · 23/12/2020 20:14

Breakfast: Christmas chocolate and a latte

Lunch:
Nut roast
Roast potatoes
Mashed swede
Roast parsnips and carrots with cumin
Sprouts
Cauliflower cheese
Plus champagne

Mince pies and stollen a few hours later with mulled wine.

No tea after all that! DS can have cheese and crackers if he is hungry later.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 23/12/2020 20:17

What's everyone's favourite choice for nut roast?

Changechangychange · 23/12/2020 20:20

We use the Jamie Oliver one with spiced tomato sauce, but we don’t make the tomato sauce (I don’t think tomatoes go with roast dinners).

My SIL makes the 1970s Cranks cookbook one, with marmite.

Both are pretty good.

CeibaTree · 23/12/2020 20:21

We have a pescatarian family member, so we are having smoked salmon blinis about an hour before lunch with prosecco. For lunch he is having a three fish roast, and all the veges the meat eaters are having which will be roast potatoes, baked red cabbage, roast beetroots & parsnips and garlic kale. With Yorkshire puddings and gravy. For dessert we are having homemade Christmas pudding (our first attempt so hope it tasted ok!) with brandy cream. Cheese and crackers for supper if anyone’s still hungry!

Xiaoxiong · 23/12/2020 20:22

My mum is making a salmon colubiac which is a kind of salmon wellington with spinach and mushrooms. Looks spectacular!

Thecatisboss · 23/12/2020 20:29

For breakfast I'm making cinnamon star bread as DD has requested it.

We're making salmon en croute with hassleback potatoes and beetroot and peas for lunch, followed by tiramisu.

Tea people can help themselves to cheese and biscuits, cakes and mince pies which I've just made.

PhantomErik · 23/12/2020 20:33

Quorn roast
Cashew nut roast
Individual toad in the hole (Richmond meat free sausages)
Roast potatoes
Sage & onion stuffing balls
Cauliflower cheese
Mashed swede
Carrots
Sprouts
Corn on the cob
Peas

There will be jelly, ice cream, or Christmas pudding available for anyone who wants it.

We're a vegetarian & vegan household.

I've got some standard & vegan cheeses, crackers & pickles for snacking on.
