Freeze mince pies out of their tins?

I want to make some mince pies to freeze uncooked. But I want to use my cake tins again so don’t want to freeze them in the tins. I’m probably overthinking this but what do other people do?

Freeze in the tin , when frozen remove from tin , and store in plastic bag in freezer . Reuse tin

Is it better to freeze them uncooked?

MagpiePi · 18/12/2020 10:01

What Cooltalkin says...

Yes, what Cooltalkin says, but don't do what I did and put the frozen mince pies in the oven on a flat baking sheet - not unless you want mince flowers rather than mince pies ...

I have cooked mince pies in the disposable foil cups before when I wanted to make a lot.

Also cooked then frozen then gently cooked again.

I cook them then freeze them, then just reheat them from frozen. I probably take them out of the oven a bit sooner than I would normally to avoid them getting too toasty when reheated.

Cook them first.
