I want one of those (IWOOT)

Anyone else having problems with IWOOT? I am worried that my son's presents aren't actually going to arrive in time for christmas. I ordered in plenty of time and it just says awaiting dispatch on my account. They don't respond to messages through the account and I've tried messaging on facebook and twitter.

I haven't bought anything this year but last year they were hopeless. Terrible communication and service overall, I finally received my items in January at some point. Sorry, this probably isn't the answer you wanted!

Their live chat was quite good. And I’ve been getting responses via email when I use their “contact us” link from my order details.

Live chat is unavailable and has been for days. I did contact them through my order details and they closed the message down without replying after 2 days so I have submitted another message.

If they aren't able to deliver before christmas I'd like to know ASAP so I can sort something else out.

I’ve been having exactly the same problem (with Zavvi who are the same company). I placed a £150 order in mid Nov - 2 items arrived but nothing else. If I go into my orders some items say expected dispatch date 27th Nov, others just say processing.

Before realising it was the same company, I placed another order last week, which bizarrely has been dispatched from the US and is being delivered today.

I gave up on the original orders a few days ago and ordered alternatives elsewhere.

Galling that they still keep sending me emails for offers! I would actually have placed about £200-300 of additional orders with then, but not if they can’t deliver.

Can you cancel the order and place a new order with somewhere else?

I was sent one item next day (tshirt for DH) but the rest of the order (toys for kids) just says awaiting dispatch. I ordered all the presents for my children from the same shop thinking it would be easier. The lego boost set is out of stock everywhere else now!

IWOOT have always been painfully slow any time I placed an order, and frequently I found the same stuff cheaper elsewhere. What Lego boost set are you after, as a few places I use still have them in stock!

Just the basic creative toolbox set. It was £109 on IWOOT. Amazon can't deliver until mid Jan. I just tried Hamleys but it won't let me add to the basket. I tried Smyths but out of stock. Where have you seen it?

I used livechat with them yesterday, the thing I’d ordered was OOS and they were trying to acquire more, but they’ve now cancelled and refunded the order.

It might be worth keeping trying, but I’d second ordering from elsewhere if you can.

Smyths have it in stores in my area for click and collect though out of stock for home delivery - could be worth checking a few stores around you?

I had a thread about them a little while ago, I’ve had massive issues this year. I managed to get help via Twitter in the end.

I placed an order at the beginning of November, it finally arrived yesterday despite them saying at the start of December that it had been dispatched. Because of my issues they refunded my order total and let me keep the goods for free - but I do wonder if this was because I’d asked them 3/4 times to cancel the order and for reasons only known to them they weren’t able to do so (it was before dispatch).

On Twitter and other SM so many people are having issues, even advent calendars not arriving! I certainly won’t use them or Zavvi again, I think they will lose a lot of business after this shambles.

Smyths have it in stock all across Scotland and north of England. It might be worth trying for stock in places where you have friends or relatives and asking if they could pick it up?

Or (probably your best bet) John Lewis have it in stock in these stores: Aberdeen, Chester, Solihull, Welwyn, and Bluewater. If you phone one one of those stores directly they will usually take payment over the phone and post it out to you.

One thing Lewis’s does really well is bloody good human-touch customer service!

IWOOT order the products after they have sold them. This happens every year, so I cringe when I see people recommending them. It’s easy to get carried away with the bargain. It’s really unethical how they trade, but things do usually turn up eventually. Hope you manage to get your stuff in time or find it elsewhere. They are causing stress that people don’t need.

They are an awful company with terrible customer service. I think they must use some kind of chat bots that generate responses based on keywords because some of their replies are baffling.

I’ve found them really shabby - I only got a refund on goods that didn’t turn up by going through PayPal. But they falsely claimed on two separate occasions during the process that they were dispatching the goods while separately claiming they were oos. Absolutely zero respect for the customer.

I also had adventures with LookFantastic this year (still trying to sort it out) and now I take a minute to double check that I’m not ordering from any of the hut group companies just to try and save myself headaches later.

No luck with John Lewis as the stock was so low they couldn't get one for me. I have now ordered something else which will arrive by christmas. Now if I could just cancel that IWOOT order.....
