Dressing up, festive jumpers or Pyjamas? What are we all wearing on Christmas Day?

Our household have decided to dress up as there have been very few opportunities this year. I am thinking sequin or velvet but comfortable!

What’s everyone else planning?

Everything we own that is warm. We are hosting my parents in the garden in a very large well ventilated tent.

And then when they leave, anything that the dog cant ruin.

But next year heels and sequinned dress Grin

Bought pyjama bottoms with stars on from Hush. Wearing those.

Glenthebattleostrich · 15/12/2020 06:13

Either PJ's or leggings and a big fleece to walk the dog.

First year in ages not hosting so we are going for maximum comfort

Christmas jumper with sparkly high waisted leggings. The only thing that fits me.

SnuggyBuggy · 15/12/2020 06:23

We will probably just be casual this year but I've always had a fantasy of dressing black tie for Christmas Day. I know I'll do it one year.

HelenaJustina · 15/12/2020 06:38

Slightly dressed up because we’ve got a space at 9am Mass. Wellies will go on over the top later for the dog walk!

NoGoodPunsLeft · 15/12/2020 06:49

Jogging bottoms & a hoody like every other day recently Grin

Hohomerryxmas · 15/12/2020 07:04

We're getting dressed up. Christmas morning in our pyjamas then dolled up before Christmas lunch.

During the summer, I was craving a night out and bought some very dramatic going-out clothes as some sort of coping mechanism. They have all, of course, been in my wardrobe gathering dust ever since.

However, all being well we're actually going out for Christmas dinner, so I have a few new frocks to choose from and I think it'll be the dark green velvet one. I'm excited!

I have a black dress with rainbow sequin stripes all over it that I haven't worn yet, despite owning for a couple of years! Daughter will wear a pretty dress and 2 year old son has a Xmas shirt with bow tie that will look cute! Husband will prob wear a new jumper. 🙄
I can't wear PJs all day - I can't imagine sitting down for a full Christmas dinner in them, no matter how nice they are.
Seeing as we've had little opportunity for dressing up and 'occasions' this year, I think this is a great excuse to go for it! Normally I'd get dressed, but in jeans and a Xmas jumper.

If the outdoor pool is open, we will start the day in swimming togs, ridiculous onesies and a Santa hat. If not, jeans and Christmas jumpers for walks and visiting and cooking.
Then we intend to dress for dinner.

Spanielsanddaughters · 15/12/2020 08:37

Mum has bought the kids some lovely dresses, but they’ll probably want to spend all day in the fancy dress that’s in their stockings Xmas Grin

I shall be wearing something tidy and stretchy.

snowmanshoes · 15/12/2020 08:42

Sparkly Christmas t-shirt, comfy velvet skirt, warm cosy black tights and my new slippers Grin so a bit of a mixture.

pinkksugarmouse · 15/12/2020 12:35

Jeggings and Christmas jumper for me. DH will wear his lovely Grinch jumper. I have a couple to choose from.

DrunkenKoala · 15/12/2020 12:52

Jeans, jumper and converses, plus a bit of make up and I’ll straighten my hair.

AlexaPlayWhiteNoise · 15/12/2020 14:52

Sparkly jumper and forgiving leggings.

TheFluffiestCat · 15/12/2020 20:17

I've got a Christmas dress with snowmen on. DD had one to match when she was 2or 3. She's now 7. I'm a bit fed up with it now, and I've lost weight, so I may go back to the long red skirt that I wore for the 20 years before I bought the snowman dress. Not very original, me.
