Probably the most boring question ever asked 😄

Anyway, I find a lot leave an unpleasant, greasy, aftertaste. Please share your recommendations (not Waitress as we don't have any stores locally). Thanks

We all like Swartz roast Turkey gravy. Tried Jamie’s get ahead but not keen so reverted back to this.
Seen fresh ones in Marks but not tried them but imagine they’d be good.

Bisto best onion gravy granules use veg water and meat juice as well as boiling water to mix.

Knorr Gravy Pots are pretty good for a quick easy option.

The marks and Spencer’s fancy range beef one is excellent

Lalanbaba · 14/12/2020 22:45

Use bisto best. Melt butter, add granules, wine (lots, red for beef and white for poultry), boiling water, add meat juices from the roast, adjust seasoning.

Vote for marks

M&S ready made gravy is delicious

Mumelie · 14/12/2020 23:01

I usually can't stand packet gravy but Sainsbury's taste the difference chicken one is pretty good

Herdwick · 14/12/2020 23:05

All 'fresh' gravies are crap and a con.

Either use bisto best or chuck some water and a stock cube in with whatever meat you are cooking and then thicken with bisto best or cornflour in a pan 20 mins before the meat is ready.

Homemade gravy if stock is so simple and cheap I've never understood why anyone bothers with the fresh stuff. If you just want stock then a stock cube is often better than the proper stuff.

Also a vote for M&S ready made gravy.

MenaiMna · 14/12/2020 23:29

May I console you that the only time I've had Waitrose's it was awful. Not missing anything there.

Elfieishere · 14/12/2020 23:43

When people say the M&S one are they talking about the £2 pot of ready made gravy or the £4 pot?

thalassoma · 15/12/2020 07:23

I use the Tesco Finest Gravy pouches and am happy with them.

SkeletorAttack · 15/12/2020 07:26

I really disliked the M&S fancy turkey gravy (I believe it was in a black and gold carton?) - made a special note to never buy again!
