Help! Any suggestions for 8 BOY angel costumes?

The hazard of a boys school is that the angels in the nativity play are not cute little girls but 5 year old boys.... The only costumes I can find on the internet (I am not a good seamstress) are all very girly has anyone got any suggestions for either easily making them or a reasonably priced supplier?

angels are warriors, and not particularly girly really, if you read the Biblical descriptions!

We had men as angels at our nativity once - white tunics, gold helmets, gold sandals laced up the leg, gold wings (stiff card not fluffy) attached to body with gold staps crossed over on the chest - and huge gold swords. Would the children not succumb to temptation and hit each other with them? I think manly is the way to go, to make being and angle a positive rather than embarrassing prospect!

Oversized white tshirt with tinsel round waist. Head dress like a crown.

Panda's description is good - think St Michael, Gabriel & co. Plastic armour breastplates sprayed gold, helmets as per panda's men, t-shirts cinched in, and long card wings, (not little cheruby ones sticking out from their shoulder-blades).
Does your school have a chapel you can raid for surplices, or a friendly local church - those tied in with gold cord belts would look good...

white is def teh way to go. Is it teh kind of school where 5 yr olds have white cricket trousers? white long Ts as tunics, belts spray painted silver or gold, cardboard wings and trumpets.
Does it have to be fairly trad angel look or can you get them into white baseball caps with ANGEL writen on teh front with white ts and blue jeans. Trumpets look good with this style as well. I like my angels to have trumpets...
