I got my mum for secret Santa!

SS with extended family and I got my mum who I have already bought for!

Budget is £10 and apparently should begin with an E!

I already got her a calendar with the kids on it, some chocolates and a personalised Keyring.

She doesn't have her ears pierced or earrings would be easy. Doesn't read, wear jewellery or drink.

Has a horse and that is it!

Any ideas?

What about a mug? Or a voucher for Costa or the like?

SausageRoll2020 · 13/12/2020 10:23

I wanted to help but the only thing I could think of starting with E was Elephant....
Anyway, here's a chocolate one that's just a teeny bit over your budget www.etsy.com/uk/listing/515792168/chocolate-elephant-the-golden-elephant?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=chocolate+elephants&ref=sr_gallery-1-1

jay55 · 13/12/2020 10:27

Something Egyptian.

Carpetflowers · 13/12/2020 10:27

E-voucher for something she likes

triceratops12 · 13/12/2020 10:27

Estée Lauder
Earl grey tea
Ear warmers
A book begging with E for title? (Maybe cheating)
Essie nail varnish
Earphones
Elephant something
Electric... something. Electric razor etc
Elasticated waist leggings (pulling at strings!!)
Eyeliner, eyeshadow

ponygirlcurtis · 13/12/2020 10:29

Envelopes? Which come with lovely writing paper or notelets (maybe with horses on)?

I feel your pain. I got my mum in our secret Santa too. I got her a lovely posh notebook.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/12/2020 10:30

@jay55

Something Egyptian.
Ooh yes an Egyptian cotton pillowcase with something printed on?
Schehezarade · 13/12/2020 10:32

House plant Epipremnum aureum Variegata - common and easy to grow I think it used to be called a money plant.

I got my mum for secret Santa!
Ohdoleavemealone · 13/12/2020 10:35

Thanks ladies. Some great ideas.

She doesn't wear makeup and a voucher feels like cheating. I will have a look at some of these though, thanks.

If she has a horse, something equestrian ? Horse print or scarf ?

She has heaps of stuff like scarfs and gloves.

This is why I hate secret santa! I really dislike giving tat for the sake of it.

There is one author that I know she likes books from but it would definitley highlight that it was me, and not begin with E.
Does it matter? Surely that is better than her receiving some rubbish?

‘Edinburgh Natural Skincare’ starts with an ‘e’ & you can get here a solid hand cream bar. Comes in a lovely little tin.

Here is one example but there are lots to choose from.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 13/12/2020 12:02

*her

Thecomfortador · 13/12/2020 13:11

I would just give her what you've already got - it's hardly going to ruin Christmas if it doesn't begin with an E. Sounds like a bonkers way to organise presents this be honest.

Thecomfortador · 13/12/2020 13:11

*to not this

The Ss are to be opened on zoom on Xmas eve so it has to be an additional present to what I will be giving her.

I don't think I will bothering with the letter thing.

OP posts:
MrsWhites · 13/12/2020 14:25

Surely anything equestrian covers the letter e? You’ve already got her something personal and lovely for Christmas so I would stick with something a little more practical for when she is riding or looking after her horse.

Littlemissnutcracker · 13/12/2020 14:28

Essential oil and an oil burner?

HawkinsLab · 13/12/2020 14:32

Enamel something or other? Bowl, mug, pin, jewellery. There’s lots on Etsy.

Or you could give her the book and say it’s an “Escape” to cover the E (sorry if that’s cringe Blush)

CarpetTime · 13/12/2020 14:41

I don’t understand Secret Santa for close family? Confused

That said, a solid hand cream bar sounds gorgeous.

horseymum · 13/12/2020 14:56

I ride and riding gloves always go down well, I'm always losing them.

BillysMyBunny · 13/12/2020 15:01

I hate having to buys gifts beginning with a specific letter, it’s ridiculous as it only reduces the likelihood of being able to get them something they actually want. Get her a book by the author she likes or something else you know she will appreciate, and if necessary stick an E adjective on the label (Eg: ‘enjoyable book’ ‘everyday perfume’ ‘edible chocolate’ etc)
