Hello. My son is 18 months and has been at nursery for 4 months. He has not been easy, but his key worker has done an incredible job with him, and she is only an apprentice so I imagine she is paid very little, i really want to thank her. Is it ok to get her a gift voucher? probably a john lewis voucher for £30? I would also get a box of chocolates for the floor. No idea what the done thing is.ifts for

That would be really kind . I usually only do £5 a teacher as my kids have 5 teachers / ta’s between them . I get gift vouchers for them mainly as then they can get what they want .

I think a gift voucher would be massively appreciated.

Very generous. My gifts have got cheaper over the years as I now have 7 teachers/ta’s plus I get the HT and lollipop man something. Then school then nursery. None of its expected but my DCs always want to get them bits. There is usually chocolate and alcohol involved.

With regards to the voucher just make sure it’s something she can use, would she shop at John Lewis, what could she get with it etc.

I usually do a big box of shortbread for the staff room and a card (and thank you note) with a costa gift card for DDs keyworker :)

I've hand painted little jars and popped a tea light in them and will fill them full of quality street sweets for my DD's 3 teachers. Our budget for Christmas was tiny this year but I still wanted to give them something as they are amazing. Hopefully they don't think im being too cheeky.

My daughter is almost two and has 5 nursery staff in her room. I've got them all a mini bottle of wine and a lush bath bomb and then her key worker a 10 pound voucher, I'm really happy with her care there and had the budget to do it this year. I like the idea of a larger gift card for the key worker and chocolates for the rest though!

Gifts may not be allowed this year.
Also at my dc setting personal gifts were not allowed (sacking offence if taken) so anything coming in was raffled off between staff.

I normally do either cash or a gift card for the key worker (ranges from £10-40) depending on how generous I'm feeling! Plus a box of chocolates for the floor.
