Any history lovers out there? What would be your ideal gift?

My Grandad loves history, particularly the Battle of the Somme. Every year, I buy him something like a book or a film and I've bought some personal gifts before like a copy of a paper on the day he was born. I'm totally out of ideas this year. Help!

I think there are offers on subscriptions for the BBC History magazines.

My parents loved a book about the history of the town they grew up in, which my sister found in a charity shop!
National Trust subscription.
Airfix models to make of battleships, war planes, soldiers etc.
A wartime recipe book, with maybe some ingredients to help!

FIL is getting a History of War magazine subscription from us this year. He loves a paper and a war documentary (at full blast!) so I'm hoping it'll go down well.

Might like a book called The Wireless in the Corner published 2017: very readable.

Dan Snow has a website called History Hit and he has a great tshirt/sweatshirt that says " Warning may talk about History".
