DS16 wants the new xbox which I probably wont get til the new year so I've mainly got him clothes, trainers, xbox game and stocking stuff. They are a nightmare to buy for at that age

Fivemoreminutes1 · 09/12/2020 19:05

Lego Architecture
What Do You Meme? game
Escape room in a box
Kanoodle Genius puzzle
Waffle maker
Mug cake gift set
Aftershave
Bullet space pen

Pipandmum · 09/12/2020 19:12

Airpods
Funky paisley shirt
His football team onesie, scarf, beanie, socks
Nike trainers (if he can find a style for £100, or part pay the balance)

afromom · 09/12/2020 19:15

Clothes, most years he's asked for football boots or trainers, but he's got loads and his feet seem to have stopped growing so I've convinced him to go with something different this year.
He never really uses anything I buy him other than shoes and clothes, so I've finally conceded and that's what he's got this year. With some sweets and chocolates

LaChatte · 09/12/2020 19:18

A good quality microphone for his PC.

Took · 09/12/2020 21:16

Mine would like ridiculously expensive things so is getting money towards them instead. He's so unhelpful and answers, "no idea," when asked what he'd like!

So I've bought just a few things
Aftershave
Sushi making kit
Japanese Candy box
Led strip lights to go around the ceiling of his room
Some small sports stuff - resistance bands, massage roller ball, and something else but I've forgotten
Coffee - he's just started drinking this in recent months so have bought some fancy stuff plus some Starbucks ones, and syrups.

Such an awkward age!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 09/12/2020 21:19

Some merch from his favourite YouTube channel. It won't be here until March though.

A Stranger Things top.
A mini game console thing.
Then boxers, socks, keyring, chocolate coins for his stocking.

DarklisAndIsa · 09/12/2020 22:35

Thank you all, some great ideas here! I'm glad it's not just mine that's a nightmare to buy for.

I asked him to send me a list of ideas this evening. He's asked for more folders and pens for college 😂

Nat6999 · 09/12/2020 22:57

Ds wants the new Xbox but will probably have to wait until his birthday at the end of January due to nobody having many in stock.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/12/2020 22:59

ds 16, has a steering wheel, pedals and gear box for his PC gaming, ear muffs for his horse riding helmet, treats for his horse, drying mitts for the body and head of his horse, personalised penknife, hoodie and joggers, huge tub of jelly beans, steam vouchers, shower gel set thingy and aftershave. hes not into having things 'for the sake of it' he prefers things he can use or eat (he is autistic and he just doesnt see the need for decorative things really)

cacaboudin · 09/12/2020 23:13

waltzingparrot · 10/12/2020 14:30

Nightmare age if their only hobby is playing Xbox or equivalent.

DS16 suggested he'd like a new sweatshirt and we spent a happy 2 hours together at the weekend hunched over the laptop examining every sweatshirt available for purchase in the UK

He's so indecisive so it took that long to long list, short list, and then whittle down to two, because he wanted me to finally decide. I've bought him both.

I'm not wasting money on bits of tat to pad it all out this year though - just a bar of toblerone.

To think I'm from the generation that was made up with a new pencil case and some colourful ankle socks! Grin

Umbongoumbongo999 · 10/12/2020 14:33

A new phone this year, his old one is 2.5 y old which to a teen is basically obsolete. Also some books relating to a game he plays, aftershave and some bits and pieces. He is also after an external hard drive for his PC.

Iamblossom · 10/12/2020 15:02

And have actually just twitched and bought him a shaving set
