What radio programmes will you be tuning into over the festive period?

Like most folk, I anticipate having more time at home over Christmas this year (yippee!) and will enjoy spending that time doing things I love but don't normally have time for - listening to the radio is one of those things. Looking for inspiration on what to tune into ...

Good question! DH came home yesterday with the Christmas Radio Times so I'll look for some good radio programmes as I'm not a big TV viewer.

We usually have a friend round for mince pies and mulled wine on Christmas Eve and all listen to the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols together, which is when I feel Christmas has properly started (especially as all three of us usually work a half day on Christmas Eve, so it's the start of the "holidays" proper).

What kind of thing do you usually listen to, OP?

I love Woman's Hour but don't generally manage to tune in during the week as I'm working ... make do with the 4pm round up on a Saturday afternoon instead - hoping they do an end of year 'best of'.

I'm avoiding radio atm so I don't lose whamaggedon usually listen to heart radio though

I listen to the carols xmas eve whilst prepping the veg. My annual xmas treat.

The Archers so I can hear Philip getting his comeuppance. I will be very disappointed if there is no comeuppance!

If you like Woman’s Hour, then the Fortunately podcast, with Jane Garvey & Fi Glover - there’s loads of back episodes as well as a new one each week, it’s fab.

The Barack Obama autobiography has been serialised for bbc radio, which I’m very much looking forward to listening to (on playback on sounds).

Magic FM is just Christmas music this month, which is lovely (cheesy, I know!). Will be listening to a lot of radio 6 as usual, too
