Just me and DP this year and after a lovely thread on it I’m excited and looking forward to doing a nice food shop beforehand! We don’t normally shop at M&S except for occasional bits and bobs, so I’m looking for recommendations on particularly lovely festive bits, or just everyday bits that are particularly nice from M&S! I’ve got £7 off a £70 spend to use in next 2 days so maaaay use that if there is enough cupboard/freezer stuff we can buy!

So far all I have on the list is:
Musical biscuit tin
Hot chocolate flakes

Yumnuts as DPs fave (obviously won’t last till Christmas 😂)
Giant choc buttons stocking filler
Teas- apple and cinnamon, mint
Bread
Percy pigs
Crisps that are like pitta bread
Nice tubs of nuts

I’ve heard they do nice gravy but i’m assuming it won’t be available till closer to Christmas!

Not Christmassy but M and S curry is the best! Last week I bought extremely chocolatey biscuits (more chocolate than biscuit), chocolate pannetone, Christmas kitchen roll and tissues and turkey gravy (it's in a pouch this year rather than the previous jar but is long life so good to get now). Also bought festive Percy Pigs and PP wrapping paper!

Coffee and dark chocolate coated hazelnuts
Clementine and cranberry Buck’s Fizz
Caramelised pecans with sea salt
S’mores fudge
Salted caramel mallows
Spiced clementine gin
Belgian chocolate marzipan balls
Sausage rolls - their standard ones (nothing fancy) are spot on and can be frozen.
Black Forest buche

@Friedbanana - chilled curry ready meal. The rice, samosas and bhajis are tasty too but we don't rate the nan bread. If they've got a dine in for £12 deal on that's usually worth a look too

Chocolate cashews
Paprika crisps
Rhubarb and ginger jam
Festive Colin the caterpillars
Dried stuffing mix
Port
Cornish cruncher (dated January)
Crackers for cheese
£5 bag of choc dipped puff candy!

Tin of Shortbread (with the judgey looking deer on the tin)

Urgh not the gravy. M&S Curry is also horrid, the chicken has a weird texture.

I'd get some nibbles or some of the deli deals on 3 for £7. Cheese. Cheese straws. Gin.

Party food - mini chicken kievs, pork belly bites, the chip shop sausages with curry sauce look fab, and my kids want the chicken donughts. I usually freeze a load and that saturday lunches sorted for a while.

It's very easy to top £70 in M&S.

I can’t shop there anymore because I’m boycotting, which is a real shame because they do an awful lot of very nice food.

I like their mandarin trifle a lot - it’s a lovely Christmas addition because although it isn’t officially Christmassy it’s yummy, not too sweet, and has that festive feel due to the mandarin.

I’d suggest getting a duck as well - either a crispy Chinese duck & pancakes, or a fresh one to do however you like.

I’d get something with marzipan, either biscuits or chocolate or mince pies if they’ve got some.

And a prepared fish starter - either dressed crab or smoked salmon roulade, or maybe one of their fish mousses which are all very nice on Melba toast.

Their low carb snacks and lunch items are very good too, lots of interesting little things to try, and they do 3 for £7 or 3 for 2 on many of those as well, so you could have a very nice little Mediterranean-ish buffet.

all great ideas thank you! do they do any good vegan /veggie things? maybe like frozen sausages, that kind of thing?
