Hiya

We are really skint this year for Christmas, so thinking of doing a collage of photos of my children. It would be A3 size and framed, with an A4 photo and other photos surrounding it.

What do you think? Both parents have said that they want more photos of their dgc!

yes lovely, thoughful & inexpensive I'm sure any gp or parents would appreciate it. We did something similar in the past when were very very broke.

TrinityRhino · 20/10/2007 12:37

I've done one for my BIL&SIL as its their first wedding anniversary on xmas eve too so we did a collage of some pics we had of their reception.

For the mums this year I have made them bracelets.

Tortington · 20/10/2007 12:53

i did photo album for my nan - in fact i have few pictures left - they are all in that book - but i'll get it back when she carks it - so i'm glad she gets enjoyment out of it - and it keeps them safe - cos my lot would probably riun them.

great idea

McDreamy · 20/10/2007 12:53

I think it's a lovely idea. We are buying both sets of parent a digital photo frame.

WorkingClassScum · 20/10/2007 12:55

Gosh yes! Anything to do with grandchild photos!

DontCallMeBaby · 20/10/2007 13:10

Both the Ps and PiLs are getting a framed nursery photo of DD - nursery got a wedding/portrait photographer in this year instead of the usual school photographer, so the pics are bloody lovely and bloody expensive. I'm going to get them properly framed, not my usual Blue Peter efforts, and then we'll be sorted.

Going to get photos downloaded and start soon.

Lovely idea, read this thread yesterday but didn't post cos nothing new to say. Thought of you today when I saw a calendar you can add your own photos to. It was in Sketchers at Sainsburys, but have seen them in lots of places. An alternative/additional idea?

Skribble · 21/10/2007 22:21

Great idea, I might do that too as this Christmas will be tight. I might do a calender as I have a publisher package that has a calender bit on it.

VeronicaMars · 21/10/2007 22:27

That is the perfect gift, my mother says she can never get enough pics of dd and when we give her one framed already or a selection inan album she loves it.

kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:34

I am going for a photo book and / or a calender this year. Tesco does one similar to the one I got here in Germany last year, about 20pounds for a photobook and 15pounds for a calender. They look really good and it saves all the plestering with photos. I imagine you could have it sent direct if the Grandparents live further away.

Asda are doing really inexpensive calendars and things this year,Check out the website and go to photo for the full range!

LunarScream · 23/10/2007 12:21

Aldiphotos do a selection good calendars too - you can download the software and customise what you get. Possible to have several pictures on a page too if you've got more than 12 you want to include.

boolepew · 23/10/2007 12:27

Studio catalogue will print your photos on to a shopping bag or a handbag. Not too dear,(think it's less than £20), and you could still pay it off.

newgirl · 23/10/2007 13:16

I think A3 is a bit too big - a4 would be better or smaller to be honest!! a little book of photos would be great i reckon

maisemor · 24/10/2007 16:22

Last year we made a photo album filled with pictures of the children for Christmas.
This year we are giving them a big glass jar filled with homemade cookies.

kindersurprise · 24/10/2007 17:08

Just noticed that MN members get a 10% discount at photobox. Have not compared prices, but might be worth a look.

Notquitegrownup · 24/10/2007 17:20

We received a family calendar from cousins once which was lovely - different picture of each month and all the family birthdays/anniversaries already printed on the right squares - a lovely extra detail
