My DD has asked for some vegetarian pigs in blankets. Can anyone reccomend some?

You can buy them online from various supermarkets, but taking a quick look at the ingredients list it would probably be healthier and tastier to eat cardboard!

@backinthebox - hmmm...that doesn't sound great! I was looking for a personal recommendation, really.

I'll stick with cooking some Cauldron sausages if we can't find pigs in blankets.

I have seen online that you can make a vegan 'bacon' from carrots! Sort of candied with spices. You could experiment to see if they could be twisted around veg sausages and cook properly.

Here's a recipe - www.theedgyveg.com/2020/05/05/carrot-bacon/

It seems you can do similar with rice paper, plus there are veggi substitutes such as Quorn bacon etc prepared.

That's an idea - thank you!

I've never seen them in supermarkets! We always make our own with whichever sausages I have in stock and quorn bacon.

Don’t get tofurkey brand (they do turkey, bacon etc). It is possibly the worst thing I ever put in my mouth.

I've always made my own! I wrap quorn bacon around quorn sausages and pop in the oven for around 30 mins. I usually have to stick a cocktail stick in them while they're cooking to get the bacon to stay wrapped around but they are delicious!

I don't think anyone's eaten pigs in blankets to be healthy 😂
