Evening, we’ve done letters to Santa and all my daughter has asked for is a surf lesson, a new bobble hat & nightdresses. I’m so stuck for ideas on what to get her. She has an iPad, kindle, soft throws, hot water bottle, colouring books and nice pens galore (can recommend Artzea paint brush pens!). She’s just had her birthday and got a lot of money which she has no clue what to use it to buy.
She’s a very sporty girl, got new swimsuit for her recent birthday along with a Garmin vivofit.
Most relatives are buying days out/ experience vouchers.
Please inspire me with present ideas that your 10yr old DD are getting. Thank you.

My DD is 10 and just had her birthday too so in the same boat! I’ve got her some Harry Potter headphones, some books and some clothes so far but struggling for inspiration!

SillyUnMurphy · 28/11/2020 21:49

My DD is going to be nine, just before Christmas.
For her birthday she is getting a bubble tea set, clothes, bath bomb making kit, books and a Harry Potter duvet set.
For Christmas; Harry Potter Great Hall Lego set, huge Squashimal, Harry Potter sweets hamper, more books, more clothes, Bookez set and a Harry Potter invisibility cloak.

TattiesGone · 28/11/2020 21:52

Mine is 9 and here's what I've got her if any use ;

Make up bag / mirror and makeup ( she likes makeup..)
Netball post
Chocolates
Posh tea cup
A manual of easy hairstyles
A pre filled recipe binder for kids
Satin pjs and pillow case
Glittery tights
Some tops from h&m
Books
Money box
Replacement film for her instax camera
A charging bank

I have pored over this list for some time!

Cornishmumofone · 28/11/2020 21:53

Do you live near to the sea? A rash vest and wetsuit? Stand up paddle board?

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 28/11/2020 21:55

I've got my 10yo dd an art desk and have filled it with lovely art and craft stuff, art books, nice pens, clay etc. She is (hopefully) going to love it.

WreckTangled · 28/11/2020 21:55

If you have a suitable outside space, a slack line?

Ormally · 28/11/2020 21:56

Personalised towel, if she's a swimmer?

Tiny magnetic sculpture balls (the only thing she wanted really badly in the Summer)

Ch3m · 28/11/2020 21:57

My 9.5 year old is asking for roller blades and a musical instrument.

ILOVEALLCAKES · 28/11/2020 21:57

My daughter is into lego and has got a tonne of the Lego elves & friends ranges. (Doesn’t help that I’ve got an 8yr old DD too).
She doesn’t really need clothes, has got headphones. We’ve got lots of board & card games.

Dd is 11 and is getting AirPods and those magnetic balls (WH Smith had then buy one get one half price) and new leotards and a onesie for her gymnastics... and some clothes, a book (newest signed Wizards of Once book), some paperchase stationery, and a build a bear rabbit.

DustyD2 · 28/11/2020 22:05

I could have written your post! My daughter got the same for her recent birthday and has no idea what she wants for Christmas. We are getting a baking subscription, neon lamp for her bedroom, footy boots, Astros, active wear and a new hoodie from Abercrombie!

DeathMetalMum · 28/11/2020 22:10

Dd1 is 10 in February.
She has,
A squishmallow,
A bluetooth party speaker (with mic and disco ball)
Latest diary of a wimpy kid book
Make up (top of her Christmas list)
LOL OMG remix doll

I have similar age gap which can make presents difficult as the often want the same/similar things.

SavoyCabbage · 28/11/2020 22:25

A skateboard or an indo board?

https://www.indoboard.com

Waffle maker
Animal crossing

ILOVEALLCAKES · 28/11/2020 22:38

@Cornishmumofone - we are very close to the sea so have decent wetsuits, although now you mention it, she did ask for wetsuit boots so thank you. We’d love to buy her a paddle board but her sister will then be after one, so maybe a gift for next year when DD2 is older.

@SavoyCabbage - I’ve never heard of an indoboard, but having goggled it - it looks fab.

Lots of great ideas, especially the personalised towel.

Also reminded me we have a slack line in the loft I need to dig out.

She’s not into clothes or make up as she’s either in school uniform or a swimsuit. Has lots of active wear & hoodies.

Lots of great ideas though to help. Thanks very much,

My 9 year old is desperate for a proper desk for her bedroom - we have told her to wait until after Christmas so she can save up but obviously have bought her one. Seems a bit of a dull gift to me but it is all she has talked about for weeks so nice and easy!

DustyD2 · 28/11/2020 23:28

Dryrobe? Got my daughter one and she loves it

TattiePants · 28/11/2020 23:35

@Fishfingersandwichplease DD got a desk last year for her 9th birthday as part of a bedroom makeover. She absolutely loved it and spends hours in her room sitting at her desk drawing etc.

DD is 10 next week so between Christmas and her birthday she is getting:
Chrome book
Light up mirror that stores jewellery, make up etc inside
Clothes, trainers, ankle boots
Snow leopard cuddle cushion from Dunelm
Light up speaker for her Alexa
Glitter lava lamp
Hair dryer & curling wand
Harry Potter chocs from M&S
Stranger things jigsaw
New David Walliams & JK Rowling books
Bath bombs, make up, hair bands

YesILikeItToo · 28/11/2020 23:42

Echo Dot
A copy of The Home Edit book. This is a Netflix programme about tidying up (or alternatively about buying storage merch, which they call ‘product’) that she loves.
A fidget toy that was pushed to me in Facebook that’s meant to be like popping bubble wrap.

Fishfingersandwichplease · 29/11/2020 00:08

@tattiepants ah that's lovely she uses it - am pretty sure my dd will be the same - just need to find a nice chair now!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 29/11/2020 00:15

A keyboard and some simple music instruction books?

Stompythedinosaur · 30/11/2020 02:25

Dd1 is just short of ten, skateboarding is her favourite thing at the moment. Also keen on a dip quill and ink (I blame Harry Potter) and a tiny baking set after seeing it on you tube.

Lovemusic33 · 30/11/2020 08:52

You could get a paddleboard as a shared gift? Have to say it’s one of the best things we own and it’s making it hard for me to buy things for dd2 this year, we need wetsuits but need to try them in before buying which is impossible at the moment. Does she have a good bodyboard?

Dd is a bit older but mentally younger (she has ASD), she’s mainly getting Lego, tie-dye kit, clothes (hype, ASOS), 3d puzzle, books and felting kits.

ILOVEALLCAKES · 02/12/2020 06:23

@Lovemusic33 - could consider buying it as a joint gift.
Definitely agree about trying wetsuits on. In the past, we have bought really decent ex-hire ones which shops sell off at the end of the summer season.
